I would love to give in my lessons the students the freedom to experiment with materials and textures, which I wasn't allowed myself during my time in art school. The teachers were a bit old fashioned and told me they prefer me to stick to more classical techniques, and as long as I wouldn't tell them that my work was "mixed media", they would love my paintings. The class includes Color Theory that will explain as we work on different projects and themes. Essentially Color Theory is how colors correspond to each other on the painting surface and how differently they get along on the working palet. Of course, the class is mainly for fun, but I do want the students to actually be learning and progressing so I may give assignments to do at home and then bring and show to me next time, as well as we would work together when the class is happening. However I'm not going to give grades to the attendants, I might verbally explain what I like and what I don't in work.

Elena is a great teacher and by the way a fantastic artist, and she's just an interesting person, which makes it enjoyable to receive classes from her. I had no previously experience and she made it easy for me to start drawing and painting right away - she was very sensitive and patient to let me figure out how to initiate the drawing adventure. Over the course of our first lessons she started to get a good grasp on my strengths and weaknesses, as well as my interests, so that we could tailor subsequent lessons to my needs.
