I believe everyone can sing, and it is one of the most extraordinary and fun things to do! Hello everyone! My name is Marion and I come from France. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. I started when I was a kid as a trumpet player. I played in many different kinds of orchestras and had a lot of fun with this instrument, but it was nothing compare to my love for singing! This is why I decided to become a professional opera singer and I want to share my passion about singing! What do I offer? Classical singing lessons for all levels with a focus on opera, songs, oratorio and choir repertoire. I am based in Utrecht. You are welcome to come to my place, but I can also come to the students. Lessons can be taught in English or in French, but I also speak a little bit of Dutch. What will you learn? The fundamental elements of classical singing such as breathing, posture and resonances for example but also styles, pronunciation, interpretation and repertoire. An important aspect I want to approach in a singing lesson is how to help you find your own voice, both in a technical and in an interpretative sense. I can also guide you with anything solfège related like how to use and read a score or how to learn a song by heart. What is my philosophy about singing and pedagogy? I believe the best way to develop and improve a skill is when the students feel that they are in a safe place where they can dare to experiment but also have fun. This is an essential part of the process of music making and I try to bring fun and enjoyment to every lesson! I hope we will be in touch soon for a lesson. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, I will be happy to have a chat with you! I look forward to meeting you! About me: I started my musical studies in my home country in France, at the Conservatoire de Caen and the Conservatoire de Rennes before coming to The Netherlands where I finished my voice bachelor’s degree at Het Conservatorium van Amsterdam in June 2018. Two years later I graduated from the Dutch National Opera Academy where I performed the role of Tigrane in Händel’s Radamisto, The Countess of Dunmow in Berkeley’s A Dinner Engagement, Arsace in Graun’s Cesare and Cleopatra and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Così fan tutte. Nowadays, I am a freelance soprano working in the Netherlands and in Belgium as a soloist and as a choir singer. I often participate in productions with the choir of the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, the Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp or the Groot Omroepkoor in Hilversum. I was one of the laureates of the edition 2020/2021 of the Dutch Classical Talent Tour & Award, and I recently won the Handel Choir Jubilee Award.

All classes will be catered towards the ability, experience and ages of the individuals. For all classes I start with a warm up, followed by strengthening skills, voice exercises and vocal development. Then we will work on a song of your choosing or a song of my choosing, if you'd prefer, of any style or genre. We can either work on songs for fun, building repertoire, examinations or performance practise. I aim to ensure that everyone comes out of my lessons feeling as though they have learned something new, improved on something and are feeling proud of themselves! I will happily teach any age, level and ability, and will personalise all lessons to suit each particular student in order to accommodate their style, interests, goals and aspirations. In terms of style, I will happily assist and coach you with any style(s) of your choosing- I specialise in Musical Theatre, Opera and Classical, but am trained to teach any genre (Rock, Pop, etc). For those who are wanting to audition for drama/performing arts schools, I can offer lessons specialising in suitable technique; as well as focusing on repertoire development, dealing with nerves, audition anxiety and stage fright, acting through song, audition cuts and general song coaching. For those who are professionals, semi-professionals and university singing students, I am happy to tailor lessons to focus on particular songs you are working on; assist you in strengthening and finding your mix, chest voice, head voice, etc, and/or focus on anything of your choosing! For those who are beginners, hello and welcome! I am more than happy to teach beginners of any age, whether you are just starting for fun, or starting with the intention of pursuing singing seriously. I look forward to getting to know all of you and your vocal types and am keen and excited to get started!

Hi all. I am a musicologist, music editor and opera specialist with 15+ years experience in casting, season planning, YAP design and artistic development in the field of opera, as well as university-level teaching experience and academic publications. I am currently residing in Taiwan under the Employment Gold Card programme, looking for local talent to develop either on an individual basis or with a local institution. Knowing Taiwan very well, I have always wondered why there are so few internationally renowned Taiwanese classical musicians. Let's try and change that situation ! Make me believe in your potential ! I am open to discuss artistic development programmes for upcoming Taiwanese opera singers, and to organise YAP, masterclasses and promotional events for Taiwanese institutions and universities. I can prepare detailed artistic development plans for individual artists and place recommendations with international organizations. I have a large network of international contacts which I can use to promote young Taiwanese artists abroad. I am open to take on editorial projects and international promotional activities for Taiwanese composers. I am open to work as a research advisor for postgraduate students in Musicology. I teach intermediate to advanced topics in my fields of expertise, including Opera Studies, Music Palaeography, Editorial Method, Source Studies and European Music History and Analysis. I am also open to suggestions for teaching or promotional activities according to the specific needs of individual artists, teachers, universities or institutions. Simply let me know what you need and we'll take it from there. ==> Be clear about your professional goals. Embarking on a PhD in performance is NOT the preferred road towards becoming a successful international artist. While I do teach music analysis, I do not dabble in "Music Theory" as taught at many US universities and colleges. Stuff such as Schenkerian analysis that was all the rage in the US some decades ago is an intellectual desert based on a nonsensical proposition of musical universality, with nothing to offer the young aspiring professional performer. Currently I teach and interact in English. I also have professional command of Italian, Japanese, French, Spanish and German. In the past I have taught advanced courses in English, Italian and Japanese. I am able to read Chinese, but I currently do not speak beyond the basics (A2). I may code switch between English and Italian, especially when discussing opera topics and while directing or auditioning singers. I expect students to know music notation and to be able to read vocal and orchestral scores. I will help you with the more advanced technical terminology. == My cv in brief == Qualifications: - PhD in Musicology with Opera Studies and Editorial Method (Leeds, UK, 2003) - Master of Music in Musicology with Opera Studies and Editorial Method (Leeds, UK, 1999) - Licence in Musicology (NOVA University, Lisbon, Portugal, 1996) Professional Experience: - 2008-present: Opera planning, casting and YAP design for opera houses worldwide; artistic development for singers - 2009-2016: Editor for CESEM, CIAO and Bärenreiter: Critical editions of "La testa di bronzo" and "Gabriella di Vergy" (Mercadante), and "Sigismondo" (Rossini). - 2008-2011: CIAO (University of Chicago) Post-doctoral researcher in the operas of Rossini under Philip Gossett; - 2004-2008: Artistic development advisor: Design and implementation of artistic development programmes for young artists in cooperation with casting departments at opera theatres worldwide; - 2004-2008: Independent Scholar (Tokyo University of the Arts) MEXT (文部科学省) scholarship for research in Japanese contemporary music and opera, with a focus on the operas of Miki Minoru (三木稔); - 2000-2002: Assistant Lecturer at the University of Leeds (UK), teaching "Issues in Opera" and "Music Palaeography Source Studies and Editorial Method". Taught advanced courses in Opera and Music Dramaturgy at Tokyo University of the Arts (2007) and University of Rome - La Sapienza (2010). Published academic papers and gave conference presentations on Puccini, Mercadante, opera dramaturgy and Japanese contemporary opera. Led the critical editions of the scores of operas by Rossini and Mercadante. Member of the International Musicological Society. Expert user of music notation software Finale.

Trusted teacher: Dear students! My name is Mariia and I am a professional singer with a master's degree from the Kharkiv National I.-P.-Kotlyarevskyi University of Arts (Ukraine) specializing in solo singing, chamber singing and music education. I also completed a bachelor's degree in cultural studies at the National V. N. Karasin University of Kharkiv (Ukraine) because I was interested in art in all its forms since childhood and in my future professional life I will combine music and other areas of art wanted. I am now active in concert and festival life, sing in the choir of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Vienna and develop in other musical genres such as pop, musicals and rock. As a singing teacher, I have 4 years of experience teaching children, young people and adults. As a result, all of my students improved their sound and singing technique, as well as began to better understand how to interpret the pieces performed and were also able to expand their vocal range. My goal is to help students: both develop their voice and unlock their full potential. And of course have fun making music! :) I really enjoy sharing my experiences with students, regardless of their age, cultural awareness or professional background. Since I have a great theoretical background, I am very interested and excited to share my knowledge with you. Important information: - I offer individual and small group lessons both in person (preferably at your home or in a public place) and online. - No experience is required for teaching. No matter whether you are a beginner or an advanced user - I will find an individual approach for everyone :) - Lessons can be given in German, English or Ukrainian. - My specialization is classical singing, but there are no limits to the musical styles. Do you want both classical and, e.g. E.g., sing pop, just bring your favorite piece with you! Or will we choose together during the lesson the repertoire that suits you, suits you and exploits the full potential of your voice :) In addition, we will do vocal, breathing and speaking exercises, learn how to develop vocal coordination and the right body feeling To sing. - If you need help with your ear training, I also offer solfeggio lessons. I will also be happy to help you with music theory and harmony. - For young children aged 3 to 10, I recommend the 30 minute class as their concentration and physical development is different than adults. I look forward to making music together with you! Best regards, Maria

Trusted teacher: Dear parents and students, welcome to my profile! I am a professional opera singer who has performed in theatres and concerts in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Greece, Romania, and Hong Kong, has won international vocal competitions, been an adjudicator in vocal competitions, and given vocal masterclasses in secondary schools. Currently, I am an official singing and piano teacher at an arts school in London, where my classes are always fully booked. I have always enjoyed teaching and can teach a wide range of repertoire in English, German, French and Italian. My lessons are mostly in English, but of course I can teach in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese too. As a private singing teacher, all my students have won local and international competitions, and obtained excellent results in their exams. Some of them even decided to choose music and opera as their future careers. Although I am based in the UK at the moment, I still would love to help students who like to learn opera and classical singing in Hong Kong. Do not worry, I am experienced in giving online classes and you will not feel distant from me. You will enjoy my classes. Yet, I see many more responsibilities being a teacher. Besides sharing knowledge and experience with my students, I am also the person who: - enlightens my students through their journey of music; - my students can rely on and talk to; - influences them to embrace differences and be kind; - makes them aware of their values and proud of themselves. I want to be my students' friend and teach them with a humble and empathetic heart. My students like sharing their stories and ideas with me outside the lessons, sometimes about books, sometimes about philosophy, sometimes about the world, sometimes about the industry, sometimes about anything in life. I always make time for my students. Besides singing, I have been a pianist and piano teacher for 13 years. I was usually the accompanist for my students in their competitions and exams. I am based in the UK at the moment, but I will arrange good accompanists for my students. If I can fly back to Hong Kong when my students take their exams and perform in their competitions, I will accompany them by myself. My qualifications are as follows: The Chinese University of Hong Kong Bachelor of Arts (Music) Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel Master of Music (Classical Singing) Postgraduate in Classical Singing Licentiate Trinity College London Vocal Performance 97/100 Distinction Licentiate Trinity College London Piano Performance 90/100 Distinction DipABRSM Piano ABRSM Grade 8 Music Theory Please feel free to contact me and let me know what you want to learn and achieve! Have a super lovely day!:)
