Trusted teacher: Hello Flutist!! How are you doing during these pandemic times? Hope you are well and safe!! I am Marcio. Welcome to my Apprentus profile! First of all, I am a specialized and fully dedicated Online Teacher. I have been teaching online since the very beginning of the covid pandemic. Since then, I have developed a lot of my way of working. All my lessons are run on Skype which works amazingly well for both video and audio. Also, to enrich the quality of the audio from my students, I very often use a pair of professional headphones which give me amazing high definition sound and articulation of the student. I also work on my iPad with the Apple Pencil and using the share screen resource I can demonstrate and draw on music sheets and methods that I am working with the student at that moment. I simply love it and most of the time it really feels much better than a lesson in person due to all these technological possibilities. My students and I have a lot of fun, you can count on that! I also have a number of Pricing Plans for weekly lessons that will lower the cost of the lesson considerably! My METHODOLOGY I use a methodology that I have developed over the years of practicing and teaching both my students and myself. It’s called: PRIORITY FOCUS. PRIORITY FOCUS basically is a non-multi tasking way of learning a musical instrument allowing time and space for us to learn and fully conquer one ability at a time. We start at the very basic aspects of posture, fingering, and embouchure, and climb our way up to the most detailed techniques and musical expressions. One Flute-playing ability at the time. This methodology is constructed on what I consider to be the two main subjects in Music learning and playing, what I call THE PILLARS OF MUSIC: MUSICALITY AND INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE Both intermix and coexist in a single dimension, but in terms of studying and progressing, I find that separating them is essential to accelerate and solidify my students’ learning and my own. MUSICALITY encompasses aspects such as musical phrases, vibrato, dynamics, tone colors, improvisations, music theory, harmony, and style: CLASSICAL, JAZZ, FUNK, POP, SAMBA, and BOSSA-NOVA, all of which I have KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE. In INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE, in our case, FLUTE TECHNIQUE, we have elements such as posture, embouchure, fingerings, breathing, articulation, tonguing, and music reading. To work on these aspects with my students I use several distinctive Flute Methods, from the most TRADITIONAL to the most MODERN ones, as well as INNUMEORUS EXERCICES that I have specifically developed for Flute technical improvements from years of experience as a Flutist, Student, and Teacher. I also use many teachings from distinct areas such as Yoga for FOCUS and RELAXATION, Alexander technique for Posture and BALANCE, and Philosophical spiritual schools for MOTIVATION. Let’s also not forget the intense work that’s is done on the REPERTOIRE OF THE STUDENT’S TASTE. I provide all materials from my vast library completely TO MY STUDENTS. I confess that there is nothing in the world, besides being with my wife and daughter, that I love more than playing and teaching about Music and the Flute. I am an extremely PATIENT, ENTHUSIASTIC, DEDICATED, AND CARING TEACHER. MOTIVATION is the key and I GUARANTEE that you’ll leave motivated after each lesson.

Trusted teacher: Myself: I have 23 years of experience playing the saxophone and around 15 years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults, beginners, and more experienced players. I believe that, in addition to teaching, it is essential to remain an active and performing musician to ensure that the approach remains fresh and relevant, which I am. I specialise in jazz improvisation, but these skills are transferable to any style you may wish to learn. The primary goal is to become proficient on the saxophone with a strong and beautiful sound, while also mastering the fundamentals. Furthermore, learning music is a joyous and enriching experience, and I am here to help facilitate that. I am also a graduate of the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam as well as Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London). The Lessons: Whether you're a total beginner, looking to refresh your skills, or aiming to progress further, I'm here to help you at every step of your saxophone journey. With experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, my main goal is to ensure that every lesson is enjoyable and tailored to your specific goals and motivations. Specialising in improvisation, I also offer instruction in harmony, music theory, and composition. Overall, my goal is to help you produce a beautiful and personal sound on the saxophone. I take pride in adapting my teaching approach to suit your learning style, ensuring that all information is manageable and understandable at your own pace. I am fully committed to ensuring that the space is welcoming and friendly, as well as being approachable for any thoughts or feelings you may have about the lessons and your progress. Lessons are held at my home in Amsterdam Oost and can be scheduled for 45 minutes, 1 hour, or 1.5 hours. Ideally, we meet weekly or fortnightly to maintain momentum, but I'm also available for occasional top-up lessons.

Trusted teacher: Hi! My name is Matteo, I'm a professional bassist from Brussels, currently based in Amsterdam. I perform and have performed with renowned musicians and bands from many different scenes and styles, bringing me to venues all over the world (USA, UK, Germany, Denmark, France, Romania, Portugal, Spain...). I have a deep passion for music ever since I started playing 16 years ago, and would like to share it with you! Bass is the best! And I want to help you uncover it's full potential. I believe the best way to learn music is to study what you love, and always work from a place of curiosity and passion. Therefore, we will always look together for ways of making the process the most enjoyable and tackle different topics through the music YOU love. The classes are tailored to each individual student: we find the best workflow for you, and adapt the lessons. If you need structure and a clear program, I can provide that; but if you prefer to keep it loose and see as we go, it's all good. All that matters is your continued motivation and progress. Among other things, we can focus on: -Basic technique on the instrument -Learning songs of your choice, with a method that will allow you to learn songs by yourself later on. -Learn about different styles: Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul, Metal, Jazz... -Develop your understanding of music through the instrument (scales, arpeggios...) -Creativity, and improvisation through the use of the material we have studied together -Ear training and music theory -Rhythm, all the way from basic to very advanced -Basic compositional techniques, or fun ways to start composing I have been teaching privately for the past 6 years, with very happy students. I can also teach online if it's better, I also have regular online students with whom we are making great progress. For the lesson, there is no need to bring an instrument: I can lend you one. Looking forward to meeting you!
