Trusted teacher: Alex has a bachelor's degree from the Rotterdam Codarts conservatory. Besides that he also obtained a diploma in pedagogy at the Amsterdam conservatory. This combination makes it possible for Alex to convey his knowledge of music to his students in a pleasant way. Alex has enough experience, he has more than 10 years of experience in teaching music in music in Rotterdam and its surroundings. He has gained this experience by giving private lessons and classes at various music schools. Alex excels in providing acoustic guitar lessons and music theory lessons. If you are looking for the best guitar lessons in the Rotterdam area, then Alex is the right address. Read more on his website to get an impression of the lessons and the teacher. Alex's priorities through the lessons are development, motivation and interest. It's very important that there is a constructive evolution in the pupil's playing, a constant will to move forward, as well as pieces/songs that inspire him or her. It's important that the pupils learn through an efficient and personal method, but also through their own interest and repertoire (wishlist). In a teaching lesson the focus is put on : - guitar posture, technique and sound - timing and rhythmic feel - strumming and grooves - interpretation - theory and knowledge of music - improvisation - repertoire (on student's wishlist) There are three dimensions to a student's programme : scores, tutorials and coaching. Having a Master's degree in Jazz composition (Rotterdam), Alex designs the scores himself, making arrangements of pieces / songs in an accessible way, along with his method and exercises for guitar technique. The scores are written with a hybrid notation (music notation and tab notation), and with all the information necessary about the right and left hand. After having agreed on the pieces / songs to be worked on, the relevant score is shared and given at the lesson. The teacher goes through it, while he also plays it live to the pupil for even more reach. He then explains what needs to be clarified in order to prepare any homework. Finally, Alex creates a video tutorial about the piece or song that needs to be learned for the next lesson. This gives extra support when practising at home, in order to avoid any doubt and keep motivation up. A report is then created to keep track of what has been done as well as what needs to be worked on, in order to unlock technical requirements and complete a specific repertoire in a constructive and efficient way. Alex teaches in Rotterdam at home or at the pupil's own location ; lessons are in Dutch, English or French, for all ages and levels. The teacher mainly gives live lessons, where he works with his pupils on specific material (technique and repertoire). If for any reason a live lesson can't take place, it is of course possible to follow an online lesson. Lessons last 30 minutes or 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.

Since 2014, I am teaching students who are living in different parts of the world via Zoom/Skype/Meet – in English, French, Farsi and Turkish languages, and it is working very well. Do you: – have limited access to good teachers where you live? – have a busy schedule or travel frequency? – want to ensure a strong foundation with a highly qualified, experienced and resourceful teacher? – want a more professional help and advice than you can currently receive from private local teachers? All you need to have is an internet connection, a guitar, webcam, headphone/ speaker and a microphone. The exercises and pieces that you need to work on will be sent to you via email or other ways that you might prefer. On the other hand, you can send me a recording of you playing the pieces and exercises before the beginning of our Zoom/Skype/Meet session or play live on Zoom/Skype/Meet. Then we will be able to discuss the ways that you can improve technically and musically, and find the best ways that work for you. I teach Classical, Flamenco and Acoustic Guitars, and I am open to all kind of musical styles. I have a Licentiate Diploma in Teaching Classical Guitar from the University of West London (UWL’s highest teaching qualification). I am a passionate teacher, and enjoy working with a wide age range (currently from 5 to 60) and a variety of levels (from beginner to advanced). I don’t believe in “one size fits all” methods, so my lessons are tailor-made to help students with different backgrounds, goals, and interests improve faster. Importantly, I use graded curriculum with students. This method helps the students to learn the instrument in a systematic way. This way, they can benefit from a faster learning pace and enjoy the sense of progress, and ultimately, become better musicians. Moreover, if you are preparing for international examination board assessments such as London College of Music (LCM) , Trinity College (TCL), ABRSM, etc, an audition, or a recital, I would be able to help you succeed. Other than Guitar lessons, I teach Music Theory, Music Analysis, and Music Composition. Importantly, I use graded curriculum with students. This method helps the students to learn the instrument in a systematic way. This way, they can benefit from a faster learning pace and enjoy the sense of progress, and ultimately, become better musicians. Please feel free to contact me for more details.

Have you ever listened to your favorite songs and thought it would be cool to play them yourself? Whether you're a complete beginner or a more advanced player, I can give you the tools to be more confident when someone passes you a guitar at the campfire or when you're rocking out on stage! With nearly 20 years of piano experience and a degree in Guitar Performance, as well as a degree in Music Technology, I have learned thousands of songs and been on stage hundreds of times. As originally a self-taught guitarist, I spent thousands of hours developing my own systems of navigating the fretboard and playing chords. It wasn't until much later when I realized that these are very similar to the ideas that professional Nashville guitarists and some Berklee professors use themselves! For beginners: I can show you the building blocks of the guitar that will have you playing songs in no time. I will also teach you the most common chord progressions that will help you switch between chords without having to think. For those struggling with barre chords: I will show you how to simplify them and how to get your fingers in shape to eventually play the full chords. For intermediate guitarists: we will start moving up the guitar neck and playing chords in different keys and positions. With the CAGED system, you can play any open chord on any part of the guitar. Ever wondered how Jimi Hendrix came up with such cool chords and licks? I can show you how to combine chords with scales to spice up your rhythm guitar playing. I'll also show you scales you can use to start improvising and playing your own melodies! For the more advanced players who feel stuck: I have extensive music theory knowledge and Jazz/Classical guitar experience and can help you break out of the box and establish a deeper connection with the fretboard. We will learn how to navigate the guitar neck so that you never feel lost again while you're playing!

Singing Lessons (Individual) - Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Rock (Amsterdam)
Stefano
Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. Grazie!

Guitar lessons and music theory lessons in Rotterdam (Rotterdam)
Alex
Alex is the best guitar teacher ever for me! Not only he knows exactly how to guide a student according to his level ,he has so many different approaches for each individual students, I don’t have a lot of time to practice as a busy mom with a 3 year old kid, but some how he found a method really adapted my rhythm and make me grow every lesson I have without practicing at all;but also he is a very kind teacher, every time I feel like I’m having a lesson with an old friend:)) would highly recommend Alex to anyone who would like to take a guitar lesson from all levels!
