Thank you so much - I had a very good experience I want to share! Adam I highly recommend Ananda as a language and music teacher. I am at an intermediate Brazilian Portuguese level and (sadly) an enthusiastic perpetual beginner at guitar given a lack of necessary intrinsic ability. She excelled teaching both for the daily 3 hour lessons I had over 3 weeks. Portuguese instruction: Ananda was not dogmatic and met me where I was. She was able to personalize all our lessons. She used current tools of language acquisition - with much spontaneous and directed conversation using comprehensible input. However, she supplemented this with reading aloud together with translation of texts including geography, poetry and other prose. Ananda also drilled me in grammar when she saw this was necessary, even when it meant revision of shaky basics. All of this was with great humor and tolerance to my infelicities. We also went on fun outings, making use of the markets and parks in Porto to improve my working knowledge of Portuguese. Music instruction: Ananda also worked with me on my guitar playing. She has deep knowledge as both a performing musician of early lute music and a composer. She taught me in Portuguese, which meant my learning solfège, how to sound out rhythm and figure out harmony. Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. I have done already more than 5 lessons with Goncalo and I can highly reccomend him. He is very kind and patience, but mostly I great teacher. I was a beginner trying to learn playing guitar via internet without any success. But since I started taking lessons with Goncalo I improved quickly my skills. what we do during the lessons is playing together a song of my choice, first he shows me what the accords are and then we play :)
