A little about me: Born and raised in Hong Kong, my musical journey began at the age of five when I first picked up the violin. With the support of dedicated instructors, I built a strong foundation in technical precision and musical sensitivity, setting the stage for my future achievements. At the age of eight, I had the privilege of studying under Mr. Ngai Ho-Chau, the former concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. His mentorship not only refined my skills but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for musical expression and the value of diligent practice. Driven by a desire to reach new heights, I earned my LTCL Diploma with Distinction from Trinity London College at eighteen, a milestone reflecting countless hours of dedication. This achievement motivated me to further deepen my understanding of the instrument. Seeking new perspectives, I pursued advanced studies under the renowned violin maestro Mr. Hwang Wei-Ming at Taiwan SooChow University. There, I immersed myself in the art of violin technique, interpretation, and performance, gaining invaluable experience collaborating with talented musicians. Over the years, I received scholarships to study violin at Taiwan SooChow University and California Baptist University. These opportunities enriched my musical experiences and allowed me to perform in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. My journey includes performances with ensembles such as the Hong Kong Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Hong Kong Pro-Arte Orchestra, Taiwan SooChow University Orchestra, and Taiwan Rong-Shing Chamber Orchestra, among others. These experiences continue to inform my approach to teaching, allowing me to provide my students with practical insights and real-world performance techniques. Previously, I taught GCSE Music at Hollingworth Academy and provided violin instruction at The Hathershaw College and Radclyffe School, where I developed a holistic and student-centered teaching approach tailored to each learner's unique needs and goals. Currently, I am dedicated to teaching SEND students at The Peak School, where I strive to create a supportive and calming environment. I often incorporate live violin performances to help my students relax and connect with music on a deeper level. Additionally, I work with private violin students, including young musicians from Manchester High School for Girls and Withington Girls’ School, as well as those preparing for music scholarship auditions at prestigious institutions like London Westminster School. Recently, I had the pleasure of collaborating with Manchester-based artist Emma for her exhibition, Monton in Bloom. In my class you will not only be able to receive piano lessons but also will learn to understand how the music works as a language. If the interest and the profile of the student goes in the direction of the purely classical music performance, the lessons will be focused on a deep and conscious piano technique development, practicing techniques, musical interpretation, history of music, history of the piano, applied harmony on the keyboard, analysis, and score reading by a method that I have developed for over 15 years of experience. And if the students wish, I can help them to prepare for the ABRSM exams and competitions as well. All this is aiming to achieve in a very practical and exciting experience the best results in the fastest way possible. But if the profile and the interests of the students goes on another way, I will give them all the tools they need to understand the language of music in depth, so they can find their own voice on the instrument. In that case the lessons will include contents of piano technique, score reading, applied harmony on the keyboard, composition, improvisation, musical arrangement, music production, recording techniques, jazz and pop music analysis and performance. Both programs can be combined depending on the focus and the profile of the student, or in case the student would like to go deeper in one of the previously mentioned subjects there is the opportunity to take an independent course of specialization on the desired topic. At the end of the semester every student will perform at the winter and summer concerts held every year and will have the possibility of making a recording session with the material worked during the term. With this, the student will not only be able to see his progress and work, but also will give him a direct experience of performing and working on a live or studio recording session, which is a fundamental part of the developing process of every musician. Fueled by my love for music, I moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, to pursue a Bachelor's degree at Codarts University of Arts. Under the guidance of teachers like Natasha Morozova and Hed Yaron Meyerson, I refined my skills and nurtured my artistic vision. After completing my Bachelor's studies, I continued my musical exploration in Codarts' Master's program. Alongside my classical training, I've always been intrigued by the therapeutic potential of music. In 2023, I earned certification in Music Therapy, expanding my horizons and deepening my connection to the healing power of music. In collaboration with my colleagues, I am member of the Olga Trio. Our mission is to highlight the works of women composers throughout history.
