Trusted teacher: (German version further down/Deutsche Version weiter unten) I enjoy teaching because it requires a deeper knowledge of the material than if one is only performing music. I am continuously learning too. I do not think that it is important how old you are or in what environment you grew up. To engage with music as a result of learning an instrument can bring your brain in a healthy state of ongoing change. People that are "without any talent" for music do not exist. Everyone can engage with music and enjoy it. I can teach Piano: - involving sheet music or not, depending on what you prefer. - or/and Music theory lessons - or/and Improvisation - or/and Jazz - or/and Ear Training - or/and Composition. The lessons can be held in English or German or a mixture of both. I teach close to Friedrichstraße in Berlin. The lessons can be done via Skype too. You can read about me as a performing musician here: Julius (*1995) is a German pianist and composer, graduated from the University of Arts Berne in Switzerland in 2017 with honors. In July 2019 he finished his Masters in the European Jazz Masters Programme through the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen with exchange semesters in Berlin and Amsterdam. Throughout his studies, he was lucky enough to receive artistic guidance by Colin Vallon, Django Bates, Harmen Fraanje, Simon Toldam, Peter Bruun, Greg Cohen, and Michael Moore. Julius was granted a scholarship by Lyra Stiftung Zürich in 2015 and 2016. Tours with his own bands have been supported by different fundings from Switzerland and Germany. He performed all across Europe during the past years. German/Deutsch: Beim Unterrichten ist es notwendig alles tiefer zu beherrschen als wenn man „nur“ Musik macht. Ich lerne stets auch als Lehrer dazu. Es ist irrelevant wie alt Sie sind oder in welcher musikarmen oder musikreichen Umgebung Sie aufwuchsen. Sich mit Musik zu beschäftigen kann unser Gehirn in einen gesunden Zustand von andauernder Veränderung und Wachstum bringen. Menschen die „talentfrei“ im Bezug auf Musik sind, gibt es nicht. Jeder kann sich mit Musik und sich daran erfreuen. Ich gebe Unterricht mit oder ohne Noten, abhängig davon was Sie bevorzugen. Bei Interesse unterrichte auch Musiktheorie, Improvisation, Jazz, Gehörbildung und Komposition. Der Unterricht findet auf deutsch oder englisch oder einer Mischung aus beidem statt. Ich unterrichte in der Nähe der Friedrichstraße in Berlin. Der Unterricht kann auch über Skype stattfinden. In 2015 und ’16 war er Stipendiat der Lyra Stiftung Zürich. Touren seiner Bands wurden in den letzten Jahren regelmäßig von deutschen und schweizerischen Stiftungen unterstützt. Julius spielte in den letzten Jahren Konzerte in ganz Europa.

Violin and Viola lessons 🎻 with a professional teacher for all ages and levels (Amsterdam)
Fermin
I studied the violin for about 2 months with Fermin and I have grown much in my knowledge of not just how to play but how to think when playing. Fermin has also helped a lot with technical struggles allowing me to break through some of the challenges that were bothering me for a long time. He is a very patient teacher but he will not hesitate to stop you and correct you (as any good teacher would) if you are not playing correctly. I personally requested that he gives me honest feedback which really helped me play better tecnically and musically. I believe he will be open to adapting his strictness upon specific requests. The time difference (Fermin being in Spain and I being in the US) has not been easy but Fermin was very willing to bend his schedule and provided several time slots to accommodate my availability. To sum up, if you are looking for a teacher that is patient in character yet unrelenting toward the goal of fully tapping your potential both musically and tecnically, I would recommend you take a lesson with Fermin.

Baiba
I feel fortunate to have Baiba as my singing teacher. Her classes aren't just dynamic and light-hearted; they're also incredibly informative and detailed. Baiba's extensive knowledge and expertise shone through as she guided me through each lesson, building layer by layer toward a felt sense of improvement from the beginning. What sets Baiba apart is her openness and receptiveness. She creates a supportive and encouraging environment where I feel comfortable expressing myself and pushing past my insecurities. As someone who struggles with fear and insecurity around singing, I can't believe how quickly Baiba put me at ease and helped me feel safe in the process of learning. I full-heartedly recommend Baiba's lessons!

I've been having singing classes with Kat for almost 6 months. I'm enjoying so much going to class with her once a week ! My goal is to get to know my voice, have fun, understand how it all works ; and Kat is amazing for adapting her exercices to your level ! She is supporting me in my comfort zone and also challenging me enough to evolve a bit more each time we meet. She is gifted with patience and humour, I can tell. You'll always get the meaning of the exercice she's asking you to do, which helps having an overview of what's happening in class. Thanks again Kat for all those breathing breaks in my week ! :)
