Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, I have been appearing on the stages of Europe and the UK for the past 10 years, for example, Welsh National Opera, Opéra de Lyon, Opéra de Lausanne, the Luzerner Theater, Buxton International Festival, Liverpool Philharmonic and many many more. My background, before my operatic days, was in Gospel music and I find that the two styles can go wonderfully hand in hand! My lessons typically last an hour but can be longer depending on your needs, or shorter to begin with. I studied Classical Singing at the Conservatoire in Lyon France, and at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne in Switzerland, and have an extensive performing career in opera and gospel music. Since 2018, I have been a passionate teacher to voice students of all ages and levels, from young students curious about developing their voices and taking exams, to professional artists performing live and pursuing recording careers. I would be delighted to work with you to build your confidence and vocal technique, to find what you are looking for with your voice! My approach The basis is the construction of a holistic musical personality, an individual approach. I help students express themselves and captivate listeners. This includes, in addition to all types of technique, ear training and music theory, also more general psychological skills and abilities related to your personality, such as, for example, artistry and musicality. In this sense, the student and teacher's understanding of themselves and music plays a major role; serious attention is paid to psychological processes in the lesson, since they are the most important part of the student's progress. Elements of psychoanalysis are included in the work (I have more than 7 years of experience in personal analysis). But sometimes, unfortunately, due to a lack of guidance and direction, the learning process may cause some difficulties followed by unexpected disappointment. If you are in need of said guidance, if your learning experience is not that captivating or satisfying anymore, you don't have to turn away from your dreams of playing the piano - I will gladly help you to get closer to them in a fun and enjoyable way in our lessons! After finishing music school with the highest grades twice as well as a number of additional courses (improvisation, composition, orchestras, etc.) and after honing my teaching skills for more than 4 years, I can safely say that my lessons may prove useful to any type of student with any kind of given objective at hand.
