Trusted teacher: As a language teacher, I aim to teach you practical and functional Mandarin. As a culture teacher, I aim to give you a nuanced understanding of China. Besides being a teacher, I am also your coach, guiding you through the joyful and challenging moments of your journey of learning Chinese Language and Culture. I have taught Chinese for 11 years, in Dutch middle schools. I am also teaching private lessons for adults, mostly for business purposes who have daily contact with Chinese companies and customers. Some of them are starting from 0, some of them have lived and worked in China for several years, and also students who majored in China studies, however, would like to improve their Chinese proficiency to native speaker level. I really enjoy teaching students with various backgrounds and experiences. When princess Amalia, Princess of Orange is the heir apparent to the throne of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, chose to study Chinese during her middle school, Dutch television program RTL Boulevard has interviewed me. Also, together with my students in Dutch middle school, we are on national TV SBS 6 for the program "Holland van Boven'. There are several other interviews on local news in The Netherlands. My private student describes me as: “Jessica is a great teacher and I am utterly happy to have met her. She is fun to learn with, but also has a very clear vision on where we should be heading and is able to exactly follow the path that was mapped out.” My student comments on my lessons as: “The teacher is very active, and does a lot of preparations for the classes. The interaction is very good, talking a lot about all kinds of different topics helps improve my Chinese.” The Chinese language is always considered to be a very difficult language. Actually, it is not fully correct. There are very practical and easy aspects of the Chinese language. Would you also want to learn Chinese in a practical and fun manner? Please don't hesitate to contact me! You will enjoy your learning journey!

Trusted teacher: Hey, I am Yu. Nice to meet you. This lesson can help you set out to learn how to speak Hanyu, read, and write Zhongwen. For this purpose, you will study the Chinese alphabet (Hanyu Pinyin), characters(Hanzi), vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and common words and phrases. If you want to learn the Chinese language, you've found the right class! Course materials can be: -Standard Course HSK (for language ability test) -Experiencing Chinese (for immersive classes) -Learn Chinese with me (for schoolchildren and teenagers) -AP Chinese -....... -any tailor-made materials that interest you This course is designed in three versions for different kinds of participants: 1) A Beginner! - Have little or no prior knowledge of the Chinese language; - Want to learn how to make yourself understood in Chinese when traveling, for example, understanding and speaking common everyday words (and sentences) in different typical scenarios ; - Hope to express 1-10 and some larger numbers in China in speech or by gesture decently. *Some examples at this stage: - Hello! Thank you. How are you? - Sorry. / You're welcome! - I can speak Chinese! What's your name? - What's the date today? What's the time now? - I'd like a cup of coffee. Is this seat free? - (and other current Chinese usages in any scenarios you're interested in! ) **Naturally, pronunciation and the four vowel tones are an important part of the lessons, but participants also learn the principles of Chinese writing and gain an understanding of Chinese culture! 2) An Intermediate Learner - Have upper-intermediate knowledge of Chinese; - Need to increasingly enhance our active language skills, to expand your vocabulary, practice reading without Pinyin, and master more advanced grammar and fixed structures to be able to make longer sentences; - Interest yourself in being able to express your views on common everyday topics, like foods, drinks, gifts, weather, Chinese habits, and common practice. 3) An Advanced Learner - Can speak and understand Chinese reasonably well; - Attempt to deepen your understanding of Chinese culture and learn more advanced grammatical constructs to communicate more specific and complex ideas in Chinese, both verbally and in writing; - Focus on topics dealt with leisure and hobbies, hospitality, culture, arts, poetry, history, dynasties and civilization, of modern and ancient China. ***I have lived in China for over twenty years, traveled to many cites (including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hongkong, Macau, and so on), and have been educated at respected schools and universities. Currently, I am studying Social Sciences in the Netherlands and I am a fan of Chinese literature/Japanese anime/Marvel films, so it's also welcome that you would like to have an informative and interesting talk in Chinese about these topics. +China captures the imagination with its fascinating contrasts. A modern-day global economic entity that proudly upholds ancient traditions. Definitely, a good way to start learning more about China is by taking Chinese!

Trusted teacher: 你好!Grüezi!Hola!Hello! I'm a Confucius Institute (the ONLY globally recognized official institution for teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages) certified Mandarin teacher. I'm also an official YCT (Youth Chinese Test)/ HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test)/ HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) test examiner. In addition to giving private lessons, I also teach Chinese at international schools and lead Mandarin immersion Spielgruppe (playgroup) in the German-speaking part of Switzerland. My speciality is teaching children between the age of 2.5 and 12 in an immersive and interactive learning environment. By means of guided game-playing, painting, story-reading, drama activities, song-singing, dancing, and handcraft-making, kids achieve organic language acquisition while having a lot of fun. The predominant features you will find in my class are tailor-made teaching materials and methods that are customized to best suit your specific study objectives (Preschooler Chinese, K-12 Chinese, YCT, HSK, Beginner Chinese, Conversational Chinese, Business Chinese...etc.). As a language learner myself (B.A. major in Spanish and currently studying German), I have great patience and willingness to help you on your journey towards Chinese proficiency, because I know how frustrating it could get at times. Being in the shoes of a linguistics student for years also enables me to better instruct you, as I understand very well what are the things a learner would find helpful. I welcome students of all age groups and prior proficiency levels. Looking forward to sharing my knowledge of Chinese language and culture with you:)

Yu
Yu feels like a very experienced girl, she gives you the right kind of attention. Her command and enthusiasm of the Chinese language is out of this world. Not only will she teach you Mandarin very professionally, but she will also explain and give historic reasons for some notions. To put a word or phrase into context is in my opinion a very effective and pleasurable way of learning a new language. Within an hour we made so much progress; something I honestly did not expect. I'm very happy I found her and I'm already hyped for the many lessons to come.

Jiaqi
Jiaqi has adopted her teaching approach to the age 5 and 6 of our sons and created a tailer-made sessions that contain crafting, drawing and game-playing that our boys love very much. While they really enjoy the sessions and the interaction is great we see the progress: our guys start teaching us Mandarin, read signs on all chinese products and show to their friends all the crafting they made together with Jiaqi. I'm happy to see that they learn Mandarin in such an organic way and highly recommend Jiaqi for any kind of learning classes with kids!

Yuki
I am very happy with my first class and with Yujin as a teacher. She's very outgoing and talkative, which is great for a teacher in conversation. Her pronunciation is very clear and her answers to my questions were very helpful. I feel like she's a very positive person who likes to motivate her students, so I'm looking forward to the next lesson.
