I was born in the south of Italy and I live in the beautiful Rome. I graduated from University "La Sapienza" of Rome in 2008. Over the past years I lived in Los Angeles and London where I started to give individual and group Italian lessons for foreigners. I have been teaching for many years by now (since 2013). I teach all ages and all levels. I have been teaching children, students at school and university, professionals, artists and even foreign teachers-colleagues so far. During my course the student can learn and practice grammar, reading, writing, listening, speaking, conversation, written and oral comprehension, written and oral production, standard Italian diction/pronunciation. I am an expert in standard Italian diction-pronunciation, together we can work on your school/business presentations. I can also help you understand and try to speak several Italian dialects! I also teach native Italian speakers how to reduce their regional accent. Learning a new foreign language is a complex dynamic process, so I teach following a structural traditional approach, which provides the foundation/basic rules of the language, while I tailor the lesson based on the student's needs. I assign homework and I use all the best tools - technology in order to provide the best learning experience possible. In the recent years I have been teaching mostly online, I’ve been working with the most popular websites out there on the internet for a very long time. I am currently a researcher at the University of Barcelona, and I deal with intercultural communication and linguistic diversity. I am also a freelance teacher. I have been teaching French and Italian for more than five years in several European countries (Italy, Belgium, Spain, and France), meeting almost all kinds of student profile (school students, university students, individuals, business employees, expatriates, amateurs, etc.). Ho imparato vocabolario, verbi, a leggere e pronunciare correttamente... abbiamo parlato di cultura, de societá, di viaggi... gli argomenti erano infiniti! Il mio italiano non é perfetto ma veramente ho imparato e ameglioratto tantissimo che non ci posso credere. Sono contenta di averti conescuto, grazie per la tua dedicazione in ogni giornata, aspetto di ritornare a fare lezione con te! ---------------------------- Fortunella is simply FANTASTIC, both personal and professionally speaking... Punctual, gentle, professional, funny... she doesn't lack any detail! I have learnt vocabulary, verbs, reading and pronouncing correctly... we have spoken about culture, society, travel... the topics were endless! I’m very grateful to have Andrea as my Italian language tutor. I am traveling to Italy soon, and his lessons have given me the confidence I need to converse in Italian when I’m there. He pays close attention to pronunciation and grammar, politely correcting you when you make mistakes and clearly teaching you the grammar rules needed to avoid making them again. The typed notes he makes during the lesson (which he sends you afterward) are clear, very helpful summaries of what we covered. I don’t think I could ask for a better tutor!

The lessons with Umberto are very well organised and they are giving me a solid preparation for the Cambridge C1 Diploma.
