Trusted teacher: Would you like to learn more about History, or do you have a particular interest in Ancient History, Art History or any other aspect of the Ancient World? If the answer is yes, I am here to teach you and take you on a trip to past historical periods, learning the keys of each culture, and enjoying learning about ancient empires, wars, society and the diversity of people that shaped the world in which we live today. I am Rubén, a recent PhD in Archaeology by the University of Leicester with extensive experience teaching in academia for the last 6 years. I have also taught Spanish to foreign students at from primary and secondary levels and higher education. I have taught American and UK students over the last seven years, whilst pursuing my studies in Spain and in the United Kingdom. I was recently awarded my PhD, through which I developed methodological aspects of teaching different types of public from different backgrounds. My experience to communicate to different types of audiences have been enhanced through my work as a contributing writer for the National Geographic History Magazine. In these classes you will be able to learn, depending on your choices...: - To recognise the main artworks of the Art world History. - To wander through the art of the Ancient World. - To identify the key aspects of historical periods. - To identify the main artworks and understand the sociocultural contexts of production. - To carry out iconographical analysis of specific artworks. - The Archaeology of Greece and Rome. The variety of topics and subjects we can cover will vary depending on the interest of the student. From general Art History lessons to very specific ones, such as the Art of the Roman World and the Provinces, or different tours through Pompeii, Herculaneum and other legendary cities of the Ancient World such as Rome, Athens, and many more. If you are interested in taking Art History & Archaeology lessons for fun or for your studies, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further options. Thank you, Rubén M.

I have been tutoring since September and have thoroughly enjoyed helping my KS2 students in working on their English skills in preparation for both SATS and 11+. Following achieving my GCSE results, I now feel more prepared to move onto a larger range of subjects. I am passionate about helping students to do the best that they can and to reach their potential. It is hugely rewarding to see progress being made. I achieved 10 GCSE grades, with a grade 9 in English Literature, Language, History and Religious Studies, a grade 8 in Geography and an average grade of 7.5 across the board. All my grades were the equivalent of A* to B, the majority being A* and A equivalent. I believe that the best way to teach is through gathering and creating a large range of resources to ensure that all necessary content is being covered and that content is being accessed through a variety of mediums that will allow for it to be learnt and understood quickly. Furthermore, at this level, working with examination questions is essential. It is vital that students familiarise themselves with mark schemes and I will make sure to teach students how questions are marked, ensuring that the right structures are used too. Communication with parents is also key and I would deliver this through weekly or bi-weekly bulletins for groups and parent emails and phone calls too. Finally, I would focus on revision methods and make sure that you have access to a range of strategies that will make your learning experience more enjoyable, engaging and successful. Message me for a discussion and so I can confirm availability and offer more realistic, updated time slots.

I was looking for a politics teacher for my son who is in IB. Arno was exceptional, both in his teaching methods and in his availability. My son was perfectly prepared and was able to really improve his level in three weeks of intensive lessons. I would recommend him without doubt.
