Trusted teacher: Approach to Teaching – I favor a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catering to the student's specific needs. – Academic lessons tend to be structured around specific sections of the syllabus, or particular topics that students require help with. – I employ a seminar-style format. I flesh out ideas with the aid of quotations, other audio-visual resources, and analytical commentary. I structure my lesson plans with a view to providing gaps, in which students are able to ask questions about the content. I am also happy for students to interrupt the flow of the lesson if a burning question arises. – I use Powerpoint to provide students with a variety of resources and visual stimuli. Lesson Structure – Academic lessons tend to be 45 minutes to an hour in length, but I can adapt my teaching schedule to provide students with additional support if needed. – Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters to a student's requirements. Academic Credentials – I am a candidate for a Ph.D. in Music at the University of Cambridge. – I hold an MPhil in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialized in Historical Musicology and Musical Aesthetics. – I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. – I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching Music A-Level students. Professional Credentials – I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films. Recent highlights include the BAFTA-nominated score for the BBC docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). – I have extensive experience as an orchestral musician and chamber music performer. I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) when I was studying for my master's degree at the University of Cambridge. I also led the University of Manchester Chamber Orchestra in the second year of my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester and premiered a good deal of new music with The Eskandari String Quartet. – I have performed at the West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), the Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), the Buxton International Festival, the Manchester International Festival, and Bridgewater Hall. – I achieved a distinction (92%) in my ATCL Diploma in violin performance, and a First (78%) in the final violin recital of my undergraduate degree. Expected Ability of Students – Academic level: Beginner through to GCSE, A-Level, and Undergraduate Music and History of Philosophy

Hi! As a history student, I’ve developed strong study skills and effective methods for breaking down complex topics, which I now adapt to help my students learn in a way that suits them best. While I don’t have formal teaching experience, my academic journey has given me a solid foundation in research, organisation, and clear communication—all of which I bring to my lessons. I will design my lessons to be tailored and interactive. In the first session, I like to start with a conversation to understand your goals, what you’re currently working on, and where you feel you need the most help. This allows me to prepare resources and materials specifically for your needs, ensuring our time together is as productive as possible. My teaching method focuses on creating a structured yet flexible format. Typically, I am thinking to begin by explaining key concepts or reviewing material you might be struggling with. From there, we’ll work on practice questions—some we’ll tackle together, and others you’ll try on your own to build confidence and independence. This approach not only helps reinforce what you’ve learned but also ensures that you feel supported throughout the process. (If you have school homework, we can work through it during our lessons, ensuring you fully understand the material. Additionally, I can provide extra practice papers or assignments for you to complete between sessions if you’d like to deepen your understanding.) I’m here to support you every step of the way. My ultimate goal is to help you feel more confident in your abilities, whether we’re working on understanding challenging topics, completing assignments, or preparing for exams. Learning doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be engaging and even enjoyable with the right approach! Apart from being a history graduate I’m passionate about sharing the rich and diverse flavors of Turkish, Cypriot, and Greek cuisine! Growing up in Cyprus, I developed a deep love for the culinary traditions of the region, and now I enjoy teaching others how to recreate these delicious dishes at home. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned cook, I’m here to guide you with easy-to-follow recipes, tips, and techniques. From hearty stews to fresh mezes, I aim to bring the vibrant tastes of the Mediterranean to your table.

Private French lessons for adults and teenagers with native French speaker in Co. Mayo (Newport)
Phillip
It is always a pleasure to meet Phil for our weekly online French classes. He is a patient and kind teacher and always full of energy for our class. Phil is interested in a wide range of topics, so we always have something to talk about based on an article he selected as 'homework'. What I really appreciate about his way of teaching is that he corrects me during our conversation without breaking the flow of our talk, so I can really feel my confidence in speaking French increasing each class. I woulf highly recommend Phil if you are looking for a French tutor :)

Daniel
My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!

Online French language tutoring in a creative way and proficiency (for all levels) (Paris)
Awni
Awni is a wonderful instructor! He is very patient, will answer any question you can think of, and can have a laugh with you during lessons as well! His lessons are very helpful and structured, he is willing to go at your pace and repeat or go over things as many times as needed. It is very evident he is professional and has more than enough education and knowledge to teach the language very thoroughly!! I would highly recommend to take him as a teacher!
