Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Tony, I’m from 🇬🇧 London 🇬🇧 and I’d love to be your English teacher! I'm not your average teacher; I'm a sailor who lives on a boat in Normandy, France. I have just completed writing my first novel, which I’m now trying to get published and I'm also working on the second book. My life has been engulfed by the English language! If you want to improve your conversation skills, feel more confident speaking English, or simply enjoy learning in a creative, engaging way, I’m here to help. I can offer customised lessons tailored to your needs, interests, and goals, making each session fun and practical. How do I tailor lessons just for you? After I get to know you - I use an AI (artificial intelligence) programme to come up with a set of lessons best suited to your needs. How do I make the lessons fun? Wait and see! I think audio books are a great way to learn English in your spare time. But make sure the narrator has an accent you like! I have some great recommendations for audio books, with amazing English narrators. Reading a book in English may be a little harder, but if I could recommend one easy to read book in English it would be 'The Old Man and the Sea' by Ernest Hemingway. We could read this book together, taking turns to read a page or two, and then discuss the story as we go. I also have a poetry book that I recommend. It's called 'The Built Moment' by Lavinia Greenlaw. Reading and discussing poetry is a wonderful way to discover the English language.

Trusted teacher: ¡Hola a todos! My name is Patricia. I'm a native Spanish speaker and teacher. I've been teaching Spanish and English as foreign languages since 2004, and I've fallen in love with my job a little more every year :) I did my Spanish Philology and Literature studies and learned how to become a teacher at the National University of Salta, Argentina. I'm a committed, responsible and professional person, who is always eager to learn new things and in permanent training. My patience knows no limits and I can find a thousand ways to explain something if necessary. I can make a course specifically for you, according to your knowledge, needs, interests, and requests. In 15 years of doing this, I've never taught the same course twice. I can compile and produce tailor-made study material for you. Since I'm absolutely passionate about Spanish, I've studied its different varieties around the world, so I can guarantee that with my classes you'll be able to have a proper conversation in any Spanish speaking country. Over the years I've worked with a wide variety of students, from teenagers to adults, from complete beginners to proficient people who just wanted to practice speaking. I also help students prepare for the DELE exams, I've done so in the past with excellent results. I'm a certified DELE examiner so I have extensive knowledge of this test. I'm in love with languages and communication, and teaching is my calling, my passion. With me grammar will never be an issue, furthermore, I can promise you that you'll enjoy it and have fun! I'd be more than happy to discuss with you what is the best way for you to learn from scratch or improve your Spanish in no time. I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Trusted teacher: In these neuro-divergent times, the binary division of "one language or two" in bilinguals is perhaps due some contestation, which students are capable of providing. I have always found bilingual production models (and the ubiquitous Powerpoint slide) that university teachers provide a hindrance because of their lack of explicitness and discussion - they are just not relatable as presented nor do they provide much information or examples for monolingual students. Code-switching, a by-product of bilingualism, is now a term that is even found in minority-ethnic neighbourhood grafitti ("can white people code-switch" a found example). Please note that this is a linguistic term, used for switching between two languages, and not between local or social varieties of English. My personal position is that there is no such thing as bilingualism: there is always a language that suffers attrition, and one language that prevails, mostly because of its prestigious standing over the other language. On the other hand, a child exposed to more than one language cannot be truly monolingual. For this course (very popular at universities around Europe both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) we shall go through the terms used to discuss bilingualism, in detail, and then discuss, with the help of published books and articles, who can be considered bilingual (or are we all, one other language lying dormant?). Can bilingualism be defined by the speaker, instead of the "community"? Can it be imposed by the State? Does a bilingual brain function in the same manner as a monolingual brain? These are research questions that emerge as dissertation or thesis topics both at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Trusted teacher: Hello! I’m Mahmood and I currently live in Gouda (South-Holland). I came to The Netherlands some time ago. As an Expat I know how tough it is to learn a new language, especially the Dutch language with its tough pronunciations and sentence structures. Being an Expat I understand much better what the challenges are that other Expats needs to go through to learn Dutch I am specialized in preparing Expats and other immigrants for the Basic Civil Integration Examination (Basisexamen Inburgering). I can also teach about the Dutch social culture and History of The Netherlands. Also I teach Dutch till A2 level or to the people who like to learn Dutch as a hobby. I teach one on one as well as to Groups (I provide discount for Groups). What can I teach you? : - Read and Write in Dutch - Sound like a Native Speaker - Participate in Basic Conversations and Use Daily Phrases - Understand and Pick Up on Basic Conversations My method of teaching: i) Starting discussion At the start, we will discuss your level and objectives. This way I can efficiently give you the help that you need. ii) Open communication I have an open way of teaching in which I encourage students to keep telling me what their difficulties are or where they would like to improve. In my experience, this saves a lot of time and also makes the lessons more fun. iii) Simplify instead of complicate I am good at listening and understanding why students are having difficulties with certain issues. The thing in which I’m best is explaining complicated things in a simple way.

Experienced and fun language teacher for Spanish as a foreign language (ELE - ESL) (Hilversum)
Patricia
I am English and speak fluent Dutch. Spanish has always been a language that I loved and wanted to learn. So, I took the plunge and started learning with Patricia. Patricia is such a dedicated highly professional teacher, full of enthusiasm. She inspires me by using all kinds of different lesson methods. Reading, watching films, various writing exercises that she creates herself, she also encourages students to attend monthly get togethers where we all speak Spanish together around a well adorned table of food and drink with a Spanish speaking country as the theme. Her patience with my slow talking and constant mistakes with word endings and verbs is just amazing!! I have been learning for more than half a year now and I hope many more years to come.Thank you Patricia! I highly recommend this teacher.

Mathematics classes for beginners and intermediate level (Gouda)
Mahmood
I need to re-study 4 years of high school maths in only 5 months. Mahmood agreed to help me with this difficult task and thanks to his professional way of teaching I believe I can make this happen. He explains topics in detail and yet quickly enough to spare time for other topics. If you are unsure he points you to the right direction. Most important thing for me was that he made me realize that I first need to master concept #1 in order to be able to later master concept #5 and so on. You can see that he has a lot of teaching experience, he tries to understand the way YOU think and based on that he serves you clear explanation for topics you struggle to understand. I definitely recommend him as your next teacher!
