I have 2 years of experience living in London, where I acquired RP (received pronunciation) and 7 years of experience in the International Academia (Amsterdam). My linguistic background gives me the capacity to explain the sounds and various processes of the language, from a perspective many natives do not know. In teaching, I practice the holistic approach. It is my belief that language is for people of every age and education, but I'm aware that everyone deserves a personal approach. In the first session, we always do a needs analysis and become acquainted, to make sure we click as people and will enjoy working away at your personal language goals. Over the years, my classes, have proven to raise the confidence levels of students. We practice knowledge in English, on 4 levels of proficiency: Speaking, Listening, Reading and Writing. I will focus on your strengths and guide you to how to use those to your advantage in learning. We will elicit your potential. I implement effective learning strategies in my lessons to help students concentrate on particular points of grammar and vocabulary. Even absolute beginners start making their own simple sentences. After a while their sentences get more complicated. The process may look like this: 1. They read. 2. They read books. 3. They read books every day. 4. They read interesting books every day. 5. They read interesting books every day when they come from work. 6. They read interesting books every day when they come from work unless they are tired. 7. They read interesting books every day when they come from work unless they are very tired. etc. I also make worksheets which guide students to speak about particular topics. During the lessons my students and I may also read interesting texts in the internet, analyze their grammar structures, vocabulary and even discuss them. I always correct my students' mistakes when they speak or write. Grammar is complicated sometimes, but if you know it well, you will not make critical mistakes. Correcting pronunciation mistakes is also very important. Learning is a process that should bring good feelings of accomplishment and I will gladly help you in this process.

I have been working with Andrey for about 2 months now, and I have to say he has been instrumental in my language learning journey. I have been working with him in different time zones across the world, and he has always been game to make something work -either taking appointments in the early afternoon, or the evenings. His understanding of French grammar and pronunciation, as well as his second to none note-taking skills, have allowed me to work on the parts of the French language that I struggle with most. He does all this while maintaining a relaxed and comfortable environment, where I feel ok to take things slower when I need to and transition back to English when necessary. It is honestly a pleasure to work with someone who understands how to teach the language to a native English speaker and has the materials to offer during the learning journey as well. In my head (only there just there) I already know a lot of Korean words. But when I try to talk I can't make 1 sentence out of it. That's why I wanted private lesson. What I really like about Severine is that she is very patient, she keeps up with my pace. Once I understand the material I'd like to move on, Palli Palli! She is a good explainer and because of that I'm feeling more and more confidence to talk (and write) in Korean. I already can Write my name in the sand, but soon I will be able to... Talk to myself for hours.. ..Say things that You WILL understand ;)
