Trusted teacher: I study sports science and English as a teacher at the Humboldt University in Berlin and am currently writing my bachelor thesis. I offer English lessons, as well as sports theory or practice, from elementary school to high school. I give German lessons to primary school students or people who want to learn the language again. In all subjects, I would be very happy to offer my help with exam preparation or homework. In English I would like to work with my student on tasks that improve vocabulary and grammatical understanding. I would also show how important it is to be able to speak English today, but also to bring up the history of the English language and its worldwide distribution to today's world language. Furthermore, I find it important to read texts together, analyze them and discuss the given topics in English, provided that the level of the students is sufficient. I mainly teach German to primary school students. Similar to English, I would support my students with their homework, prepare exams, try to enrich the vocabulary or also an understanding of the grammar. I am available as a teacher for sports theory but also for sports practice. I am writing my bachelor thesis in sports science. This offer may be more attractive for the upper level and the preparation for the Abitur exam in sports as well as for students at a sports school. For example, I would also meet the students on the sports field and practice the disciplines of athletics or gymnastics (in both sports I had a 1.7 in my practical exams at the HU).

Trusted teacher: Originally from Luxembourg and holder of a baccalaureate section L (with honors), I subsequently obtained a master's degree from Columbia University in New York in 2017. After three years spent in London and two years in New York, I fluent in English. I also have a perfect command of French (mother tongue level). I have been giving private lessons in English and French since 2011 whether in New York, London, Luxembourg or Paris. In Paris, I was able to gain additional experience with the HeyProf, Conversation Studio and Speaking Agency training organizations. I have taught students of all ages (from 5 years old to 80 years old) and coming from very different fields (school, academic, professional, private). I also helped several students to pass the bac tests and the ironing tests. I also worked as an educational advisor with the Moonkeys organization, which offers educational workshops in English and French to children aged seven to fifteen. I set up a storytelling workshop around the principles of storytelling, script and character creation by integrating digital tools such as stop motion and video editing. I regularly correct essays and dissertations (license and master's level), articles (especially for scientific journals) as well as cover letters. Group or individual lessons are structured around oral and written expression and comprehension and aim at the same time as an initiation into English and French culture. In the past, I have been able to combine a multitude of teaching methods and tools (especially digital) that I have been able to discover through my posts in different English and French speaking countries. In this context, I knew how to put in place methodologies focused on the specific needs of each student that allowed them to take exams such as the TOEIC, IELTS, or TOEFL, as well as the end-of-year exams. secondary studies, competitions and exams. I prefer interactive, oral-based lessons which allow you to establish any lexical or grammatical gaps and correct them later. I am able to adapt to a wide variety of student profiles and to coordinate extremely flexible course flows. I accept all levels and I am very flexible in terms of schedule.

Trusted teacher: How many people in the world speak German as their mother tongue? Around 130 million people speak German as their mother tongue, or as their second language. German is the most widely spoken mother tongue in the European Union and is the official language in seven countries. There are 7.5 million people in 42 countries who are part of a German-speaking minority. How many people have already learned German as a foreign language? 289 million! It is the total number of people around the world who have learned German at some point, according to a calculation by the Germanist Ulrich Ammon. Another question is, to what extent they have done it. Currently, 15.4 million people around the world learn German as a foreign language, 90 percent are schoolchildren and the remaining 10 percent are adults. How many words are there in the German language? More than you might think. German learners soon learn that two nouns combined make up a new word. This makes it difficult to count the total number. In 2013, Berlin philologists estimated a total of 5.3 million German words. In 2017, the editors of the Duden, the standard work of German spelling, calculated that today's German has almost 23 million words (in its basic forms alone). This result is based on a gigantic digital collection of texts from a total of 40,000 fiction and non-fiction books. However, the latest edition of the Duden contains only 145,000 entries. And a normal speaker uses only 12,000 to 16,000 words. What words are the most common? „Der, die, das“: Specific articles, which all German students know so well, take first place. They are followed by "in" and "and". Which word has the most letters? In the Duden it is: "Aufmerksamkeitsdefizit-Hyperaktivitätsstörung" (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), with 44 letters. Why was the International Mother Language Day created? The UN declared February 21 the International Mother Language Day, because almost half of the 6,000 existing languages around the world are in danger of extinction. German is not one of them, it is one of the ten most widely spoken languages. But in Germany there are regional languages dominated by fewer and fewer people: North Frisian and East Frisian are especially threatened languages, according to the UNESCO Atlas of the World's Languages in Danger. In class, we will tackle grammar as daily as drinking water or eating during the day. My work materials include flashcards, textbooks, web pages, podcasts, German movies and series, music and literary books.
