I’m a BSc biochemistry graduate with honours from Durham University, and currently a medical student, with the aim to go into cardiothoracic surgery. I have been tutoring for over 5 years now, and have vast experience in teaching biology, english language and literature and geography, particularly online. After gaining As and A*s in my GCSEs and A-levels, I'm confident that I can help you to do the same, whilst utilising my knowledge of various exam board curriculums and what to expect in exams. Sessions are extremely interactive and include topic specific PowerPoints with useful diagrams, exam style questions, quizzes and various activities to ensure understanding and an overall enjoyable experience. I have a track record of helping students improve their grades and try my hardest to make sessions as relaxed, focused and engaging as possible, whilst being extremely effective. I understand that everyone learns differently and have previously helped students go from consistent 3s/4s to achieving 7s/8s in their GCSE English exams, and am confident that anyone can do the same with the correct approach and technique. £4La geografía como ciencia transversal a la evolución del ser humano: La importancia de la relación espacio - humano.
La geografía es una de las ciencias más antiguas e importantes del mundo. Desde los inicios del ser humano hasta la actualidad, gran parte de las decisiones que tomamos están dictaminadas por el espacio en el que nos encontremos, hasta nuestros rasgos evolutivos cambian dependiendo del lugar donde nos encontremos. Por esto y mucho más, el entendimiento de la relación que existe entre el ser humano y el espacio es de vital importancia para reflexionar y estudiar más a profundidad las dinámicas de las sociedades humanas, su conformación, sus procesos y sus avances. Partiremos desde los inicios del ser humano y el poblamiento del mundo, pasando por las culturas clásicas, resaltando la importancia que tuvo la geografía en la evolución de cada una de ellas, entraremos en la edad media y entenderemos a la geografía como un arma estratégica que brindó la capacidad a los grandes imperios de expandirse, como los Mongoles, los Otomanos y los Romanos. Entraremos en la edad moderna, pasando por los hitos históricos que marcaron el rumbo de nuestra civilización y la importancia que tiene la geografía dentro de estos. Y por ultimo terminaremos dentro de la edad contemporánea, dónde exploraremos conceptos importantes dentro de la geografía y empezaremos a abordar algunas nuevas aproximaciones a esta nueva modernidad que ha transformado drásticamente nuestra forma de vivir. Además de estos ejes temáticos, en clase aclararemos dudas sobre los diversos acontecimientos ocurridos en el siglo XX referentes a la geopolítica mundial.
