Additionally, I attended an international high school in France for my secondary education, where I specialized in sciences and achieved a score of 18/20 on the final scientific baccalaureate. The classes at this school were taught in French, english, dutch, and spanish. Here is an overview of my previous tutoring experience: 2021/2022: I worked at "bijlesthuis," a Dutch tutoring institution, where I primarily taught french, dutch, and english to adult learners seeking to improve their language skills. During the same period, I also provided classes to other students through Apprentus. 2021: Through Apprentus and other websites, I assisted several younger students (ages 5-15) in Bern and Geneva, helping them improve their skills in subjects such as math and french. 2017/2020: I worked for three years at a tutoring institution in Geneva called ARA, where I primarily taught french, mathematics, and english. During this time, I also spent two years working at a private school called Florimont, where I supported students aged 11-16 across various subjects by assisting them with their homework. I can teach French, Dutch, and English, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching and assisting students in their progress and acquisition of new skills. As a person, I am flexible, calm, and positive. I have helped students prepare for French exams like the DELF, as well as those who are planning to move to a French-speaking country and need real-life language skills. I understand the challenges of learning a language, having learned two languages myself: English and Portuguese, and plan to learn more. I have faced difficulties, hit walls, and overcome them, and I believe that my experience as a language learner makes me a well-rounded teacher. However, I do not claim to know everything about teaching, as I am constantly learning. I tailor my teaching method to best suit the needs of my students. I use interactive resources such as images, videos, and texts to help my students learn effectively. For beginners, I recommend trying out the Pimsleur method, which is a 30-minute audio lesson based on gradual interval recall. This method reviews learned vocabulary at increasingly longer intervals and has been used by the CIA. If you are interested, we can discuss how to use this method together. I offer French lessons remotely through Skype, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams or at the students place. When the lesson is online, I use a platform that allows us to see and modify documents, images, and videos in real-time, which is very useful. Mélinda
Melinda is an excellent tutor and I've been completely satisfied by our clases. Melinda took care to understand my learning objectives before structuring are classes around natural conversation, reading, writing, and pronunciation. In particular, she prepares good (and interesting!) learning resources - Including new articles, film clips, and customised exercise sheets. While she speaks English fluently, she manages to teach in a clear and patient manner, meaning she rarely needs to switch to English to explain concepts. Beyond her talents as a teacher, she's incredibly friendly and personable. She's also shown a lot of flexibility regarding class scheduling. For reference to future students: I am a native English speaker learning French as a second language. I had an OK grasp of basic French before starting classes, but lacked both familiarity with grammar and confidence in speaking. I've had several lessons with Melinda and have experienced a clear improvement in my level and I will continue on a regular basis.

I've been putting off this review because I was afraid my review wouldn't be good enough to tell how great Anais is as a teacher! I've been taking lessons with her for more than 6 months now and my French has improved a lot since then. Before that I used to have classroom lessons that were "okay", but now I really feel that I'm making much more progress. Anais is a lovely person and her dynamic to teach is great, the time flies during the lessons. Totally recommend her!

Rosy
Rosy was an excellent teacher for my 15-year-old daughter. She is a most pleasant, kind, and generous person. Also, she was always well-prepared and on time. The private lessons with her drastically improved my daughter's knowledge of French and brought back the joy of speaking French that she had lost in school. Highly recommended teacher.
