Trusted teacher: I offer online or face-to-face English lessons to non-native speakers. I work with the student to identify learning objectives and any areas of weakness and tailor the lesson accordingly. Areas covered during the lesson include, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar accent reduction. I currently live in Den Haag, The Netherlands. In addition to private coaching, I also work for an online ESL company delivering English lessons to children across a range of age groups. In addition, I also work as an ESL proofreader and IELTS private tutor here in The Hague. I hold a BA (Hons) degree and have a CELTA qualification. Prior to a career in ESL English teaching, I worked in the UK national press for the Times and Financial Times newspapers. It was there I developed my proofreading and communications skills. In my spare time, I write articles for magazines and have had feature stories published in The Telegraph magazine, The Daily Mail and a number of health magazines. I have also written two language books. The first, 'I Already Speak Speak French!' is an illustrated book for children that covers the etymology of many English words to their French origin (attached is a sample of it for your interest!). It has been translated for the French market into, 'I Already Speak English!' The second book is called, 'Learn Business English FAST!' which draws on a teaching methodology used for effective, fast learning that I used whilst teaching English for the international company, GoFluent.

In our classes I’ll help you speak English with confidence. We'll focus on speaking: I specialise in 'déblocage de parole' (unlocking speech), and my lessons also include communication coaching – so that you can be yourself in English and build authentic relationships with people, just as you would in your native language. I work with both professionals and students. I was an English writing instructor at The American University of Paris, and I’ve worked with large French corporations such as Chanel, BNP Paribas, Sanofi... A few examples of my accelerated coaching sessions: - University students: application essays to Oxford and Cambridge master's programs - Professionals: coaching executive-committee members in leading French institutions; preparing clients for management positions abroad – full switch from French to English; Anglo-Saxon style job interviews With each student, we make a personalised plan. I’ll teach you how to learn efficiently outside of class as well, so that you don’t waste time. The right technique at the right time can really accelerate your progress. I’m fluent in French (with some mistakes) and have extensive experience teaching French speakers (including students in Geneva/Genève and Switzerland/la Suisse), but I work with other nationalities too. I’m a language enthusiast and I wholeheartedly support my students. I’ll make you feel comfortable and I hope to make your learning journey fun! The first session is free! Write to me to schedule your free trial session. After the first trial session, the individual online course rate is 60€/h.

1-1 tutoring sessions aimed to help students improve their grades and essay writing skills. Ideal for students needing a bit of extra help in preparing for their GCSE or A-Level exams. I adopt a friendly and encouraging method of tutoring which focuses on what the student needs from me in order to make progress. I can, for instance, look at students' past assignments, tests and exams in order to give feedback, identify weak points and make improvements together in the session. We can also read and analyse texts together, if this is something that might help improve their ability to pick out themes, make comparisons and critically think about the literature. For History classes, we can, for example, focus on planning longer essay questions and / or doing source analysis - picking apart a source and assessing its purpose, content and value. English Literature texts that I know particularly well include Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Great Gatsby, Atonement, An Inspector Calls, Hard Times, and Keats's Poetry. History subjects I have a particularly strong knowledge in include Revolutionary Russia 1850-1950 and the 17th Century English Civil Wars. However, I also have a broad knowledge of many different historical topics and periods, including the British Empire, colonisation and decolonisation in Africa, Enlightenment Europe and 20th Century America. I will always try my best to integrate the methods of teaching and marking that the student's school prefers.

French Immersion Online Classes: Engaging, Comprehensive Language Learning for Kindergarten to Grade 12 Students (Montreal)
Sara
Miss Sara is a very good teacher. She has a way to keep my 6 year old daughter engaged and encouraged while increasing her abilities in French. I have seen my daughter improve drastically. She challenges her and she started reading many words in the space of 3 months when she could not before in French. The exercises she gives touches a wide range of topics (syllables, vocabulary, sentance building etc) that has allowed my English speakig daughter to cope well in her French school environment. She started understanding what people say to her in French which is amazing.
