I moved here about 18 years ago, from a small town on the South Coast of South Africa called Hibberdene. I spent most of my time growing up on the beach and enjoying the outdoors. My passions from as far back as I can recall have been the outdoors, music, reading and animals. I chose to qualify as a preschool teacher at a very young age and went on to get this qualification in 1998. I had the honour of teaching many wonderful young students who taught me that teaching and assisting others was a passion. After many years of teaching various students privately, I learnt about teaching English as a second language and went on to get my CELTA qualification in 2013. My passion in seeing how another person’s eyes light up when they learn something has encouraged my desire to teach and assist as many people as I can. I have worked with students of most ages, ethnic backgrounds and various learning disabilities. I always do my best to work within the student's ability and requirements to get the best results. My other passions have meant I always have animals in my home, who are like my family. I have had many types of animals and have spent as much time with them as I could. Germán is a great teacher and also fun to work with. He first carefully diagnoses strengths and weaknesses and then designs tailored exercises around the learning needs and gives concrete feedback and shares vocabulary tips. If you search someone to better understand homework/grammar exercises or someone for stand-alone private classes, German is your guy for both. He can explain grammar or improve conversational skills. Before our private lessons, I took courses at the Cervantes institute and my professor there also respected him a lot for his teaching methods and knowledge.
