I started my career as an English language teacher in 2008 and soon became very passionate about language learning and teaching. This culminated in a Masters degree in second-language acquisition and a CELTA Certificate from Dundee College. I specialised in Trinity and Cambridge exams and also in conversational English for practical and everyday use. After many years overseas, both teaching and examining English, I have returned to Spain and am available to share my extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of English. I currently work as an Aviation teacher in a school in Alicante where I have taught for some years. My teaching approach is student-centred and communicative, where learning is a positive experience in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All my students are encouraged to speak as much as possible to increase fluency. Professionalism, patience and a good sense of humour guaranteed! All lesson materials are provided free of charge. I teach using a mixture of coursebook material , whiteboard presentations, listening activities, video clips and general speaking practice. While my classes are 100% in English, I can also speak Spanish and some Italian words. This gives me a real insight as to why students make certain mistakes, and how to best avoid them. I really enjoy teaching and helping people improve and grow in confidence. We all learn at different paces and in different ways. My job is to give you the tools to learn and enjoy the process. I offer English lessons adapted to your own needs and interests! In my classes, you can expect entertaining and engaging activities designed to help you achieve your language-learning goals. Depending on whether these English classes are part of a personal project, a job requirement, or you need assistance for passing your high-school or TOFEL/IELTS tests, my lessons will vary in terms of language level, topics and types of activities accordingly. In this way, I am confident I will be able to help you meet your objectives by the end of the course! As a recent graduate in English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, I am confident I can teach the language from Beginner to Advanced level, as well as adapt my lessons to all kinds of purposes: I've had to read numerous fictional and theoretical books throughout my studies, as well as write extensive essays on various topics, which has familiarized me with academic English. On the other hand, living in the UK and working in the hospitality industry there has allowed me to learn English on a more colloquial register as well. Moreover, I have acquired a Level 5 Diploma for Teaching English from the TEFL Academy. For this course, I've had to learn and put into practice different techniques and teaching approaches, adapting my lessons and the target language to the age and language level of the student.

Awni is a wonderful instructor! He is very patient, will answer any question you can think of, and can have a laugh with you during lessons as well! His lessons are very helpful and structured, he is willing to go at your pace and repeat or go over things as many times as needed. It is very evident he is professional and has more than enough education and knowledge to teach the language very thoroughly!! I would highly recommend to take him as a teacher!

Maria is an excellent teacher who can adapt her teaching style according to her student. My daughter and I both had lessons with her and we both found the lessons both enjoyable and challenging. We both feel we made progress. My daughter has had several tutors over the years and thinks Maria is, for her, perfect. She makes the lessons fun while having a structure and aim for each lesson so progress is always made.
