Trusted teacher: I've been teaching English to small children up to teenagers at École Française Internationale. I give lessons for beginners and intermediate levels. I mix between French and English so the pupil doesn't get too confused, but also allows them to understand every detail. For beginners, we usually talk about our surroundings, what's close to us and what affects us on a daily basis. (Numbers, directions, the weather, asking simple questions, what's a noun and pronoun and where to put them in a sentence). I like to find playful activities so that the pupil/student is in control of their work. It also stimulates their motivation. Of course, this is an example for a certain age group, but it also varies depending on their knowledge and their age. For intermediates, we make basic conversation. Ex: How do you go to school; What do you do in your free time? ; What's the weather like? The lessons depend on whether the student is learning for their personal knowledge or if it's for school. -------------------------------- The start of the course with a new learner consists of detecting their level by talking about their background, what they already know, what they must master in order to no longer have any gaps. The first lesson also allows the learner to get comfortable and get to know me to establish mutual trust. That’s why I use a touch of my British humor to achieve this. (I generally do this at the start of the lesson with my students to establish a good mood and they are always delighted!) To help the learner better engage with the learning, I will ask them what their passions/hobbies are, this who interests him to arouse interest in learning. I will adapt my lessons on subjects that speak to him more. Depending on age and level of knowledge of English, the method will vary. I play with songs if it's for vocabulary or accent, it helps me memorize better and what's better in song... Everyone listens to music! No matter the reason for the course, if it is to improve oral, written, reading or listening comprehension, I organize audio sessions, readings, everything necessary to deepen the language using the active pedagogy that I learned during my CAP training. I can play the news from the BBC news channel, the weather forecast, the trailer for a film. My goal is for the learner to evolve gradually with as few gaps as possible.

Trusted teacher: --- ENG Hello everyone! My name is Maria, a Venezuelan musician residing in Belgium. In the world of art, languages and cultures are a fundamental part of being able to understand each other and connect with each other in order to create something beautiful together, in my case music. Apart from being an artist, I like languages and learning them has become a passion for me, which is why I decided to take this passion to another level. During my classes I want to help you learn my native language, which is Latin American Spanish, in a personalized and dynamic way. The classes are separated by levels (A0-B2), where you will learn the grammar of the language but also vocabulary and expressions to use on a daily basis with other speakers of the language. My idea is that each student learns the language at their own pace but understanding and daring to speak it from the first day. Support material (book, exercises, audios, etc) is always included. Classes can be individual or in groups, both online and in person (Brussels, Belgium). Classes will be given in English and Spanish. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. I hope to see you soon and start discovering and learning this beautiful language! Greetings, Maria. --- ESP ¡Hola a todos! Mi nombre es Maria, musico Venezolana residiendo en Bélgica. Trusted teacher: University of Chicago graduate with over 10 years experience in standardized exam preparation offers intensive specialized training for the Verbal section of the GMAT and for TOEFL iBT with guaranteed significant score improvement. The GMAT is required for most MBA programs worldwide, of which the top 100 use it for 90% of their admissions. Its Verbal section (Sentence Correction, Critical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension) is quite different in its focus on the logic and construction of phrases and arguments rather than language rules and vocabulary, typical of other exams. I will help you gain real understanding of the question logic, and extensive practice by working only with authentic questions from past exams (hundreds of questions of various difficulty levels) and supplementing with extra targeted exercises from my eclectic collection of the best resources. This serious exam requires intelligent preparation, there are no superficial shortcuts and tricks like those one may easily come across. However daunting the GMAT may seem, you can actually score at least as high as native speakers (I have had students score in the 700’s), thanks to a more analytical and formal approach to English. What is awesome is that GMAT preparation will not only increase your test score, but also give you logical and analytical skills useful in any aspect of your academic or professional life. The purpose of the TOEFL is merely to make sure you have the necessary English skills to study in university, with a focus on communication and understanding. Thanks to my long academic experience in American universities and preparing hundreds of students for the TOEFL exam, I can help you significantly improve your written English production for the two different TOEFL writing tasks, as well as your pronunciation and fluency for the six speaking tasks. The methodological and individual approach will definitely boost your skills and confidence and give you a more efficient and effective preparation than group courses can.

Trusted teacher: What to expect? Young children - More of a game/activity learning method but also involves learning a broad scheme of things. It is in a way, an introduction to the basics of the language. Teenagers - Usually involve set goals to reach by a certain period (for school). The teaching method and intensity depends on the amount of catching up to do. If no catch up is required a more friendly learning method can be applied depending on the learner's interests. Adults - More of a discussion-based learning method, depending on the experience of the learner. And can be oriented more towards specific subjects or domains chosen by the learner. It can involve course work or tasks to be done. Why me? I was born in Scotland but I grew up mostly in the french-speaking part of Belgium so I would say that both English and French are my natal languages. I have decent knowledge of the various English cultures, vocabulary, and grammar. Having traveled for a year in North America and having lived in Australia, Ireland, and Britain. My mother is an english teacher in a secondary school and has given private english lessons ever since we moved to Belgium when I was six years old . I have participated or helped in many classes when needed. I have access to a ton of material and her personal knowledge if I or we are experiencing a problem that we can't seem to solve. Or an issue the learner is experiencing that is preventing him/her from advancing. I am a very "auto-ditact" person who tries to maximize the resources I have and the ones I have access to. I am good at understanding and solving problems and I believe that I can apply this to teaching as well. I am a very professional person that tries to stay as relaxed and calm as possible. I am also extremely patient and have a lot of dedication. If there is a deadline and a goal to meet, I will try my very best to make things work. Additional info I also know the humiliation that we sometimes feel when speaking a foreign language. I try to be as impartial and non-judgemental as I can in order to make the person feel as relaxed as possible when communicating with them.

Peter
Peter is a great professional and I will recommend him to everyone who wants to learn or to improve the language. Peter prepared me for the interview for my dream job - I am sure if you are not a native speaker there is always a possibility for improvements :) He also gave me useful recommendations regarding the interview in general because he knows the system perfectly and reads between the lines. Peter adapted every class based on my needs and I saw the progress immediately. Important to mention it's obvious that he enjoys every class and really wants people to know his language :)

French school courses for high school students (Schaarbeek)
Serdane
Serdane is a wonderful teacher. Although my daughter learnt French at school she was very unconfident. Serdane was very sympathetic and gave her interesting material to read, discuss and to learn in class. She also went back to the basics which my daughter had missed out on at school and eventually my daughter graduated with 8.8 in French at the European BAC!

Turkish (Turks, Turkce, Turc) Language Lessons for any level students (Leuven)
Cigdem
Cigdem is a great teacher who takes the time to integrate learnings with real-life discussions. For example, we spend 10 minutes at the start of each lesson and throughout the course of the lesson an extra 15-20 minutes having a chat about subjects including work and life in order to be able to apply all the theoretical learnings to the actual language.
