Trusted teacher: I am a native English and Italian speaker, and I have worked as a tutor and language teacher over the past ten years, while also studying History and Cultural Heritage. My experience includes teaching English language courses at different levels, preparing for language exams, conversation practice, as well as text translation and correction. My past customers range from teenage and adult students, to young and older professionals. As an instructor and teacher, I offer: • Lessons at all levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. • A multi-faceted approach, which covers: conversation practice, text comprehension, grammar, writing, academic and professional vocabulary. • Training in Professional/Business English. • Preparation for language tests: FCE and CAE Cambridge tests, IELTS, SATs. • Conversation practice (tailored to the needs of the student). • Tutoring high school students • Text translation and proofreading. Approach - I always encourage the student to develop a personal connection to the language by exploring personal interests in English. In my lessons, I favour a practical approach (real-life situations) and use texts, videos and conversation to elicit grammar rules and vocabulary. When necessary, the lesson is focused on grammar rules and the correct use of language. This positive approach, along with regular practice, will definitely improve your English and keep it active in the long term.

To start with you will need to: - Identify what subject(s) you would like tuition in - The syllabus in the subjects (if bookings are based alongside school learnings) - The level you are currently at - The goals you wish to obtain and if there's anything in specific regarding the support needed Learners require individual support and the skill I've acquired will naturally align with the learners requirements. Back story: My interest surrounding society and teaching comes from understanding there's many ways; no two people are the same, what works for one may not work for another. My skills and experiences have highlighted there's a need for those that still have passion and care for what they do. It takes more than communication when individual support is needed; thus my skills continuously enhancing. I allow myself to stay true to who I am whilst working, where my ambitious, understanding, empathetic, creative, optimistic, integrity, leadership skills, dedicated and critical thinking qualities form attainment. Since 2019 I have been working in the educational field, with as young as EYFS to KS4, as a teacher assistant, one to one support, mentoring and providing public and private tuition. Amongst this I have acquired a BA degree in Sociology which has allowed me gain further knowledge and skills in other roles. Within this time I have seen the students I've provided support to excel, learners that had lost hope then regain optimism. ©

The lessons with Umberto are very well organised and they are giving me a solid preparation for the Cambridge C1 Diploma. During our lessons, Umberto takes the student's personal needs and interests fully into account, creating an engaging learning environment.
