I specialise and have years of experience, skills and training in SEN as well as many other subjects. Therefore, I'm qualified in supporting and providing primary age children who have learning difficulties and need full support in any subject from Key Stages 1-2. Updates on your child's progress and homework will also be provided regularly. This includes full support given to mainstream children who do not have learning difficulties but need some tuition in English, Maths or Science etc. Exam support for those preparing for their SATS in Key Stages 1 - 2 will also be given. All children will be provided with homework on a weekly basis. I like to give parents of young children regular updates on how their child is progressing. For older children or adults, I can provide support with coursework, essay writing and exam support, just ask! My teenage daughter had tuition from myself whilst studying for her GCSE's this year. She managed to pass all of her subjects, and got a distinction in English, amongst other subjects! I like to build a good professional rapport with all my students and to allow them to really think critically whilst learning. My goal is to make learning fun and enjoyable, but that it should also challenge young minds, in order for them to thrive and grow. As educating children is very important to me as a tutor. I am also a published author, so can give full support in: Coursework support for those that are studying Creative writing, Character Development, How to 'Hook' your reader. Marketing a book, Editing, Proofreading, and How to publish your novel.

Readers and Writers Workshop is a student-centered instructional model that fosters independent learning and skill development in literacy. The core principles of this approach include: Workshop Structure: Mini-lessons: Short, focused instruction on a specific reading or writing skill or strategy Independent Practice: Students engage in independent reading and/or writing, applying the skills learned Conferencing: One-on-one or small group work between teacher and students to provide personalized feedback and support Student-Centered Learning: Emphasizes student choice and ownership over the reading and writing process Encourages students to select their own "just right" books and writing topics Promotes active engagement and self-reflection through activities like goal-setting and peer sharing Differentiated Instruction: Teachers use ongoing assessment to tailor mini-lessons, conferences, and assignments to individual student needs Flexible grouping allows students to receive targeted support or enrichment as required Accommodations and modifications ensure accessibility for diverse learners Focus on Process: Equal emphasis on the development of reading and writing skills, strategies, and habits Teaches students to view reading and writing as iterative, recursive processes Fosters meta-cognitive awareness through modeling, think-alouds, and reflection The Readers and Writers Workshop approach aims to cultivate confident, independent learners who are equipped with the skills and dispositions to engage meaningfully with texts and express themselves effectively through writing. Its student-centric focus and emphasis on the reading-writing connection make it a powerful framework for literacy instruction.
