Trumpet course (classical and jazz, improvisation)

My learning method revolves around two axes: TRUMPET LESSONS For students of all levels, from beginner to advanced, with or without knowledge of music theory, who wish to learn or improve, I offer trumpet lessons where the following aspects will be covered: - Basic notions (fingering, breath, use of the tongue) - Master and perfect your sound - Flexibility exercises (passing easily from low to high sounds) IMPROVISATION My conviction is that improvisation is within everyone's reach, you just need to integrate certain tools that I will be happy to send you! - Become familiar with and master all the ranges - Analyze the chord chart (harmony) of a piece in order to feel comfortable accompanying it on the trumpet - Improvise on different sound accompaniments, thanks to many different and modular musical recordings to learn "playing together" And to go further: I can help you choose and get started with the software I use to record music, and change the key or tempo of the recordings.

We will build a logical sequence of studies that will help develop the technical aspects. And we will address repertoires according to the age and taste of the student. we will draw a path with short, medium and long term goals. we will build a technical routine and healthy habits to progress correctly. I am a professional trumpeter, I have participated in symphony orchestras, wind bands, big band, and small chamber and jazz ensembles. I have extensive experience teaching children, youth and adults. For me it is very important to make music from the first lesson, because there must be a balance between technical practice and its application in small melodies or musical pieces. No matter the musical genre, we will always find a repertoire according to the level and interest of each student. Hi, I'm Justine, I just finished my bachelor's degree at the Brussels Conservatory and I'm starting a training in pedagogy next year. I can teach beginners and intermediate players in cornet, trumpet or bugle. I am quite flexible in the methods used, there are always plenty of ways to help you progress. My teaching method is as follows without the instrument: Awareness of the breath, placement of the mask (lips, tongue, palate, throat), body position. With the instrument: The air column, the position of the mouthpiece, the work and the position of the tongue. How to be enduring on the trumpet and get tired as little as possible. For the advanced: work on the treble, the brass section, precision, Cat Anderson's whisper g, the choice of mouthpieces, the piccolo trumpet. There are also balms to relax the facial muscles, flush out lactic acid, oxygenate the blood and reduce swelling. Subsequently or for the students who play correctly, we will work on the classic program of the technique with French and American methods, work of improvisation and decryption.

Individual upper brass (apart from French Horn) and/or music theory lessons from beginner to advanced either online or at your house. For all ages and abilities but must have own instrument.
