Hello, my name is Claude. I am a teacher of mathematics, physical and chemical sciences, and computer science. Successful written and oral CAPES mathematics and CAPLP math-sciences, I have taught in various middle and high schools, professional and general. I have been giving private lessons for around 8 years. There, the difference with national education is enormous. This is support for the student, with personal attachment. It is true that most of my students are young high school students, but not only that. I have also had many adult people outside the school system who all simply want to complete their knowledge and who want personalized and regular support. I have essentially high school students, mainly preparing for the baccalaureate, but also adults for computer refreshers, for example. Have you always taught? No, it's a retraining! This choice is due to my training background but also to my tastes. After my scientific baccalaureate with an IT option, I did two years of physical mathematics at university. But after a retraining in management (DUT GEA Finance Accounting option), I redirected myself into IT. I obtained a master's degree in mathematics and computer engineering and a master engineer title in Avignon. After working in commerce, particularly through the web, I turned to teaching. I prepared for my CAPES mathematics and CAPLP maths sciences in 2014, and I passed them successfully. I did internships in Avignon and Nice then I worked in various high schools and colleges part-time, while giving private lessons. I have been giving lessons for almost 7 years. Is there a big difference between teaching in the classroom and teaching in private? Yes and no. In form of course, there are the problems of eclecticism of a class of 30 students: the different levels, abilities and aspirations of the students. This makes the task of teaching difficult. At all times the teacher must demonstrate vigilance, creativity, and great energy to be able to respond to the individual and collective needs of all his students, but also to "complete" the program... In private lessons, no need to discipline, and you can focus on the specific needs of the learner, listen to him permanently, and adapt the whole course to his personality and level. This is of course a great advantage for the teacher and the learner. Why three subjects? Mathematics, computer science and the physical and chemical sciences are three complementary subjects, in close correlation with each other. It is possible to switch from one subject to another naturally. These three subjects are often taught together in the scientific courses at least until two years after the bac. These are fundamental areas which impose a certain rigor, but also allow a lot of creativity. Subjects that are both practical and theoretical, very interesting and captivating. Often, they allow us to better understand the world around us, nature, the functioning of our brain...etc... Yes you can love math, and find computer science great. In any case my goal is to share this view of the mind. What are your computer courses? We can tackle a large number of themes (programming, networks, algorithms, databases, web development, unix system, etc.). But also many topics related to the use of the computer (use of software such as a word processor, configuration, use of the Internet, filing of files, etc.) How can you help the learner? I can help in various ways: Go back to lessons that have not been learned or that pose a problem, solve exercises, homework, go into chapters, etc. I can support the learner in their journey which can be defined beforehand (online training, retraining, exam preparation), or which we can define together on the basis of an objective (knowing how to use the internet, programming, revising the 1st S program in math, physics) I find that personal encouragement and the appreciation of any effort or progress are also important in helping How often do you teach? It depends on the learner and his project. In my opinion consistency is an advantage. My classes can be done on the basis of a follow-up once or twice a week, at the rate of 1 hour, 1 hour and a half, 2 hours or even more ... I also offer intensive courses of 10, 15, 20 hours or more during school holidays, to revise or prepare for an exam. The high technological level of this site but also the seriousness allows to work in all serenity.
