I am a bioscience engineering student (masters) and fluent in French, Dutch and English. In my language classes, I combine written and verbal aspects of the language and focus on the difficulties of the student to make sure the student feels comfortable with the language. I prepare my class beforehand according to the needs of the student and the content of his/her course.

In my science classes, I start with a general overview of the matter to make sure the basics are understood. Furthermore, I will make sure the student feels comfortable solving problems or understanding pathways and mechanisms. I started teaching because I really liked mathematics. I appreciated the fact of being able to share this with certain students as part of academic support, to the point of hoping to be able to make them love this discipline. Later, I liked the concrete side that economics and finance brought to this discipline. I couldn't stop and I made it my job. My name is Marco and I am from Chile. I am currently a student at KU Leuven University, pursuing a Bachelor in Science of Business Administration (3rd year).

I like to use different methods to teach French to students. It can be through songs, drama, role play or videos. I also very often use situations close to the student's experience, such as describing places they have been or talking about what they have experienced. At the same time, I teach the grammar rules to the student. I now live in regions where French has been spoken for over 30 years. Because I have learned French myself (and I am still learning other languages), I can easily put myself in a student's shoes. I can teach in French, Dutch, English, German and Russian.

Mathematics is used in virtually every career. Moreover, apart from academic success, they are fundamental for the intellectual development of children and adolescents.

Having developed a good foundation in mathematics in secondary school did not limit me in my choice of studies in higher education. It has indeed made it easier for me to succeed in most courses at the university, and I am currently studying for a master's degree in management engineering at the ULB.
