Of je nu een beginnende of gevorderde drummer bent, ik ben er om jou te helpen met vragen over techniek, improvisatie/chops, meespelen met nummers, vreemde maatsoorten/subdivisies, theorie enz. Ik studeer momenteel jazzdrums (master) aan het conservatorium in Gent en heb naast jazz nog veel ervaring met andere genres zoals hiphop, pop, rock, metal (+double pedal), latin enz. Het gevolg daarvan is dat ik opensta voor vele verschillende soorten muziek. Daarnaast heb ik ook al 5 jaar ervaring met lesgeven en ben ik bezig met het behalen van mijn educatieve master. Tijdens de les zal je altijd kunnen kiezen wat je graag wilt leren. Dit kan conceptueel zijn maar ook een nummer dat je graag wilt leren spelen. Er wordt dus voortgebouwd op de interesses van de student. Na afloop wordt er een samenvatting van de les doorgestuurd naar de student. Er is een duidelijk lessenprogramma en cursus, een vlotte vooruitgang is dus verzekerd! Klinkt dit allemaal als muziek in je oren? Ben je klaar om je drumspirit te onthullen? Schrijf je dan in voor een half uur/uur les. Zo kan je zelf aanvoelen of het ‘drum-gewijs’ klikt of niet.

Together we start from the beginning where many drummers start from. Motor skills, maintaining rhythm and learning to sense musical numbers. Drumming is basically determining how fast/slow a song is played, and when the transitions come. Learning to sense these things is the beginning of the first lessons. We start immediately on the drum kit, and you automatically acquire the knowledge while you play.

I specalize in composing music for ensembles, soloists, and orchestra - with a Masters of Music Composition from the Koninklijke Conservatorum Antwerpen. My goal is to pass along knowledge and coach young musicians who wish to create their own music, either as a composer, or simply to stimulate their own performance practice. I have a background of classical, folk, and various popular music styles including heavy metal, rock, pop, etc. We can work through the development of your works, touching on relevant aspects of music history, and implementing them into your compositional practice.

The world of percussion offers an endless array of possibilities. My teaching will depend on the student: whether they would like to specialize in certain instrument(s) or styles or become an all-round percussionist who is not afraid to dive in wherever music takes them. I think it's best for consistent development to have a plan with a goal in mind. Where do you want to be in 10 years? How to get there? What do we need to do for it each year, each month, and each week? At the beginning of each lesson, I would like to listen to what the student has prepared, and from there, we will figure out what steps are needed to make it even better.

In these drum lessons the focus is mainly on playing technique of hands and feet and material. If you struggle with speed or you start playing, good technique is very important. A badly learned technique is also difficult to learn later. You get to know the drum set inside and out, the different types of sticks, the tuning of your drum kit, the choice of sheets and cymbals. I can also help you with the purchase of new material. The lessons take place at the student's home.

Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

Logic Pro is a powerful but complex software tool that can be used to create everything from very basic recordings and compositions, to huge professional productions. You'll learn all the skills you need to set up and use Logic Pro; how to record and edit audio, use software instruments and plug-in effects, and how to mix and process your sounds. Lessons can either be conducted online, or at my studio, if you're local to Plymouth (it's not in a restaurant, I don't know why it says that!) I've been using Logic Pro for almost 25 years and have taught it at University level.
