Trumpet and/or Music Theory lessons (for all levels and ages)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Hi there! I am Rafael, a graduate Master's student at the Conservatorium Maastricht. I have been playing trumpet for more than 15 years and I am excited to share my passion and show others the fantastic sound of the trumpet. In the past when I was still living in Portugal (my home country), I have been a trumpet teacher for musicians of all ages. Additionally, I have experience in orchestra playing such as Radio Filharmonisch Orkest, NJO (Nationaal Jeugdorkest), and Limburg Jeugd Orkest. I am passionate about classical music, however, I am open to working with any music style, like Jazz, Pop, or Baroque. Before coming to the Netherlands, I graduated from the ESMAE (Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo) in Porto, Portugal. During my career, I have been working with musicians such as Floris Onstweder, Benny Wiame, Kevin Wauldron, Telmo Barbosa, and Carlos Leite. I also did a masterclass with musicians like Reinhold Friedrich, Jeroen Berwaerts, Charles Schlueter, Gábor Tarkövi, Fábio Brum, Clément Saunier, and Andrei Kavalinski. My goal as your teacher is to give you the main tools to play trumpet and expose you to the various aspects of trumpet performance. I can teach you about aspects like style, tone quality, endurance, and musical phrasing. I am also happy to help you with any aspects of music theory if the student is interested in doing so. I will help you understand concepts such as keys and meter signatures. I am also willing to help you prepare for possible entrance exams to music schools or Conservatoriums. Most of all, however, I want to show you how fun playing an instrument can be! Hope to see you soon!

Understanding the different parts of speech in English. An imperative for English fluency. Part 1Translate this text using Google Translate.

Understanding the different parts of speech in English. An imperative for English fluency. Part 1Translate this text using Google Translate.

Many English learners are eager to improve their vocabulary. This is good and should be encouraged. Unfortunately, this eagerness is usually driven by a common misconception that having a wide vocabulary translates to fluency. However, this isn't the case as an understanding of sentence structure, plays a greater part in being able to communicate effectively in English. The ability to structure your sentences correctly entails knowing the different parts of speech and their placement within each sentence. Every sentence in English includes words that fall into some or all of the different parts of speech and having a thorough grasp of this aspect of the language and how they're ordered (sentence structure), helps confer fluency. As such, the focus of this class (which is in 3 lessons) will be on the different parts of speech found in the English language and their order within a sentence (Sentence Structure). There are 9 parts of speech in English. Lesson 1 focuses on Nouns, Prepositions and Verbs in great detail. Lesson 2 deals with Articles, Adverbs and Adjectives in great detail while lesson 3 looks at Articles, Conjunctions and Interjections in great detail also. The objective of this series of classes is to familiarize students with these concepts. Please note that I teach a separate class (Part 2) that focuses on Auxiliary and Modal Verbs and it is advisable to complete all lessons under part 1 before proceeding to part 2 taking in order to achieve fluency. So what should you expect from the class? As always, my classes follow a specific format. In each class I explain concepts using different methods, provide numerous examples and check for student understanding. I also provide classroom exercises to further cement any newly acquired knowledge. That's it folks! I look forward to seeing you in my class.

Programming for all (Python, Coding Games, Game Development)Translate this text using Google Translate.

Hello Prospective Learner, I am Gundeep, grew up in India, studied in US and worked in Silicon Valley and have 10 years of programming experience in all kinds of programming languages. I would like to share that knowledge with others. I especially think it's a great time for kids to learn programming considering that it's the next frontier of knowledge. Currently there is 1 developer for every 4 jobs in The Netherlands. And participation is really low from minority communities and women. I want to play my small part to change that. I don't intend to have too many students since I work full time and my hope is to find a handful of committed students whom I can teach true of the essence of programming besides just the technical concepts. With young Kids 7-10 (like my son) I think technical coding-related games work great in teaching them how to think analytically. For teenagers+ I think they can already start learning python a very easy-to-use, extremely powerful language. I live with my wife and our 6-year-old son in Loosdrecht and would be willing to commute within reasonable distance. Online classes could be option too, but I strongly believe in person education is more effective. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions. *Please note that I can only teach in English. Mijn nederlands is niet zo goed :/ ** For people from minority communities and women I would be glad to offer a cheaper price per lesson.

TEENAGERS' TIME! Releasing emotions, sharing thoughts, identifying 'what you need' and build on confidence and resilience.Translate this text using Google Translate.

This is an 8-session program aimed at the school ‘transition’ years of ages 12-19. The group sessions are facilitated following a broader Personal, Health, Social, and Economic Education (PSHE) curriculum focusing on gathering teens' needs, making them objects of reflection while leveraging neuroscience information and a playful approach. The program can also well serve as a taster for teachers/parents in separate sessions or workshops. In particular, Teen's Time explores issues around: - Working with concentration and focus; exploring how we can work with a wandering mind. - Identifying emotions, how they work, and interact with thoughts and body sensations. - Why humans worry, and how to support ourselves when we do so. - Sleep: why it is important and what to do if we struggle to sleep well. - Being with others: the opportunities and challenges of working skillfully with friendships and other relationships, Each session includes: - Learning about key areas of the brain and how they support us in our everyday activities - Some introductory breathing practices - Reflections - Animations, short video - Discussions - Role play's and enactment's - Exercises they can try in their own time Teen's Time is inspired and informed by the several children-oriented programs of the Mindfulness in School Program (MisP) organization. The feedback from children who have previously taken part in these programs is very positive. They report enjoying the group sessions and especially sharing their emotions with the other participants. They find learning and neuroscience helping them in a broad range of situations from being able to concentrate and focus more easily in school to helping them feel calmer in exams and competitions. Many have described sharing the learning with other family members and finding it helps them with their relationships with family and friends. Teen's Time Starts: on Monday, February 28 - Introductory session - Time: from 16:00 to 17:00 hr
