Trusted teacher: Many English learners are eager to improve their vocabulary. This is good and should be encouraged. Unfortunately, this eagerness is usually driven by a common misconception that having a wide vocabulary translates to fluency. However, this isn't the case as an understanding of sentence structure, plays a greater part in being able to communicate effectively in English. The ability to structure your sentences correctly entails knowing the different parts of speech and their placement within each sentence. Every sentence in English includes words that fall into some or all of the different parts of speech and having a thorough grasp of this aspect of the language and how they're ordered (sentence structure), helps confer fluency. As such, the focus of this class (which is in 3 lessons) will be on the different parts of speech found in the English language and their order within a sentence (Sentence Structure). There are 9 parts of speech in English. Lesson 1 focuses on Nouns, Prepositions and Verbs in great detail. Lesson 2 deals with Articles, Adverbs and Adjectives in great detail while lesson 3 looks at Articles, Conjunctions and Interjections in great detail also. The objective of this series of classes is to familiarize students with these concepts. Please note that I teach a separate class (Part 2) that focuses on Auxiliary and Modal Verbs and it is advisable to complete all lessons under part 1 before proceeding to part 2 taking in order to achieve fluency. So what should you expect from the class? As always, my classes follow a specific format. In each class I explain concepts using different methods, provide numerous examples and check for student understanding. I also provide classroom exercises to further cement any newly acquired knowledge. That's it folks! I look forward to seeing you in my class.

Trusted teacher: This is an 8-session program aimed at the school ‘transition’ years of ages 12-19. The group sessions are facilitated following a broader Personal, Health, Social, and Economic Education (PSHE) curriculum focusing on gathering teens' needs, making them objects of reflection while leveraging neuroscience information and a playful approach. The program can also well serve as a taster for teachers/parents in separate sessions or workshops. In particular, Teen's Time explores issues around: - Working with concentration and focus; exploring how we can work with a wandering mind. - Identifying emotions, how they work, and interact with thoughts and body sensations. - Why humans worry, and how to support ourselves when we do so. - Sleep: why it is important and what to do if we struggle to sleep well. - Being with others: the opportunities and challenges of working skillfully with friendships and other relationships, Each session includes: - Learning about key areas of the brain and how they support us in our everyday activities - Some introductory breathing practices - Reflections - Animations, short video - Discussions - Role play's and enactment's - Exercises they can try in their own time Teen's Time is inspired and informed by the several children-oriented programs of the Mindfulness in School Program (MisP) organization. The feedback from children who have previously taken part in these programs is very positive. They report enjoying the group sessions and especially sharing their emotions with the other participants. They find learning and neuroscience helping them in a broad range of situations from being able to concentrate and focus more easily in school to helping them feel calmer in exams and competitions. Many have described sharing the learning with other family members and finding it helps them with their relationships with family and friends. Teen's Time Starts: on Monday, February 28 - Introductory session - Time: from 16:00 to 17:00 hr

Hola, My name is Daniela. I am an illustrator based in Hilversum and a part time mother of an almost 3 year old boy. I have experience teaching kids and adults languages mainly English and Spanish. I lived in China for 6 years and in The United States for three years. Scrum is one of the 'lightest' Agile methods and therefore less prescriptive than, for example, Atern. Scrum is also more a framework than a method and invites further interpretation. In the first instance, with the implementation of Scrum, it is not necessary to replace all existing functions and artifacts. This allows the framework to be further filled in. By applying the framework, a restructuring is initiated. The new structure that then forms the basis for continuous improvement. The traditional walls between the various disciplines are being demolished by the formation of multidisciplinary teams. Developers, testers, analysts, architects and database administrators are examples of disciplines that can be found in such a multidisciplinary team. By merging all disciplines into a team, the transfer of documents, waiting times and communication problems are reduced. Agile Scrum focuses on achieving the goal through successful collaboration. Agile methods are popular with software development and are increasingly used in other fields. The Scrum way of working involves putting together a multidisciplinary team that organizes itself and that delivers a working product at the end of a sprint The training The Agile Scrum Foundation workshop is a two-day training that prepares the participants for the Agile Scrum Foundation exam of EXIN. The workshop consists of a mix of theory, practical exercises and practical examples. There is a lot of room for exchange of experiences, always going back to the theory. Participants receive handouts, exercises and articles plus a practice exam. EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation (EXIN) is a certification that recognizes knowledge about Agile methods, combined with knowledge about Scrum practice. The EXIN Agile Scrum Foundation exam is part of the EXIN qualification program and has been developed in collaboration with international experts in the field.
