Trusted teacher: While creating a repertoire, we will work the ear, rhythm, technique. I focus on practice, improvisation, and the relationship between you and your instrument in order to have fun on your bass. Okay, but what are we doing? The basics: - the silence - harmony (scales, chords, intervals) - rhythm (binary, ternary, swing, shuffle) - the sound (technique, nuance) - the coding of the English chords (A = la, E- = E minor, etc.) - the musical culture and the different ways of listening to music A choice: - improvisation (learning to play without partition, becoming able to play with anyone, anytime) - group music in general (the modern bass, the different roles of the instruments in a group) - jazz (standards, swing, notions of harmonies and improvisation) - rock, funk (notions of groove, rhythmic placement, search for sounds, pentatonic scales) - music games for children The instrument remains a tool to make music, so we will work to become a MUSICIAN (with the help of a bass guitar). Any age, any level (to be evaluated during the first class) I preferably receive at home, or at least near my home (Paris EST). Having a busy musical life moves are to be avoided as far as possible. Do not hesitate to contact me for further information! Additional Information: It is important for your teacher to match you musically (unless otherwise, if you want to fill in gaps, or discover a new genre). That's why I present myself in a few lines, so that you get an idea of the kind of bassist that I am: I started bass more than ten years ago, I first discovered the instrument alone (self-taught training). I later played in several Rock formations. Rock I was interested in Funk (style in which the bass plays a key role). I then became more and more interested in improvisation and therefore Jazz music. I took two years of classes at the Conservatoire du 9ème arrondissement in Paris before joining the IMEP (formerly American School of Modern Music). Currently, I play in several bands: a jazz / funk band and a jazz / rock band. My influences (in bulk): Jaco Pastorius, Weather Report Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, George Duke, Miles Davis, Funkadelic / Parliament, James Brown, Prince, George Benson, John Scofield, Hendrix, Zappa, Stanley Clarke, Al di meola, Paco de lucia, Bob marley, Marcus Miller, Kenny Garett, Bill Evans, Lettuce, Brecker Brothers, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu, Led Zep, Dire Straits, Rolling Stones, The Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Munir Hossn, Matthew Garrisson , Hadrien Feraud, Ron Carter, Linley Martha, Maceo Parker, Paul Chambers, Mike Stern, Bob Berg and many more!

His first teacher is Vittorio Marinoni, then replaced by Stefano Bertoli. During the last few years, he plays in several Rock / Metal / Progressive groups in the area of Bergamo (Italy), improving different techniques and refining double pedal skills. Thanks to his mentor Stefano Bertoli, Francesco continues his studies and plays in various Funk/Latin/Fusion/Jazz groups. He also attends jazz music classes held by Tino Tracanna, Stefano Bertoli and Attilio Zanchi, as well as Sandro Gibellini and Sergio Orlandi, where he has the opportunity to improve his improvisation techniques and styles. His meetings with the Mexican artist Israel Varela and his passion for Latin Music, leads him to a full and complete understanding of the language of this specific music genre. Thanks to Maxx Furian, he also has the opportunity to refine his technique. Francesco is now working in cooperation with several groups, playing live music: Mind the Gap (Metalcore), Acid Frogs (Acid Jazz, Drum ‘n Bass, Electronic Music) and Latina Turner (Latin Jazz) as well as LigaStory (a cover tribute band to Luciano Ligabue, where he occasionally plays live with Max Cottafavi e Federico Poggipollini). He works as an independent teacher in Suonintorno School in Gorle, Bergamo (Italy). Recording studio collaboration with emerging artists allows Francesco to refine his studio techniques and sounds.

Hi, I’m Cassie—a British jazz saxophonist, award-winning composer, and Trinity Laban Conservatoire graduate, now based in Berlin. I’m currently looking for a couple of private saxophone and/or composition students who are keen to develop their skills in a supportive and engaging environment. Saxophone Lessons: With a strong background in Jazz and improvised music, I offer saxophone lessons tailored to each student’s needs—whether you’re preparing for ABRSM or Royal College exams (or other equivalent examination boards), exploring jazz improvisation, or just playing for fun. As a performer, I’ve played at major festivals and venues across the UK, USA & Europe such as Glastonbury Festival (UK, SXSW (USA) and Paris Jazz Festival (FR). I am still active as a touring band-leader/artist and I bring that real-world experience into my teaching. Composition Lessons: As a classical composer, my work spans orchestral, chamber, and jazz ensemble writing, with commissions from leading arts organisations and orchestras - recent commissions include the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Philharmonic. My lessons focus on notation, orchestration, and arranging—whether you’re composing for small ensembles or larger-scale works. I hold a BMus Hons degree in composition from Trinity Laban Conservatoire (London) where I studied with American composer Stephen Montague and British composer Andrew Poppy. Composition lessons I am able to teach both in-person and online via Zoom. If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to get in touch! Looking forward to making music with you! 🎷🎼

Hi, my name is Sam. Do you know many students cant hear music as good as they could read music? No, you dont have to be born with perfect pitch to hear the notes in melodies and harmonies in the music. If you could tell red from orange, blue from indigo, as long as you are not "color-blind" to music (we call tone-deaf), then you can "hear" music too! With the right training of course! Wish to play songs like your favorite Youtubers playing beautiful covers within hours of a new hit single release? Then this class is for you! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Listen & Play Piano - Unlike the conventional "classical" method, this "modern approach" lesson, you'll learn to identify melodies, recognize chords, play different accompaniment styles, improvise (advanced level), and create your own personal style (advanced level). Lessons include: 1. Active Aural Training This is not the usual "classical exam format" aural exercises but practical aural techniques I've learned from my years of stage performance. 2. Chords You will learn chord theory on harmonizing the melody and how to identify them just by listening to music. 3. Contemporary Accompaniment styles This includes my bread-and-butter accompaniment styles I use in playing solo piano or keyboard in a band, and the knowledge I've accumulated over the past 18 years playing in church and band. 4. Music Theory on Pop Music Music theory provides a systematic guide to your hearing so you'll understand what you heard and can even predict the harmony movement in most pop music.

(LIVE or ONLINE!) Piano, improvisation, composition and music theory lessons (Rotterdam)
David
I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

Singing Lessons (Individual) - Pop, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Rock (Amsterdam)
Stefano
Not just a singing teacher, but by the way also the best vocal coach you can get hold of at this moment and in this area of the Netherlands (so take your chance...;-)). For about 3 years I had a serious problem with my vocal chords (incomplete closure) and a dislocated larynx. I started to be in contact with Stefano by chance asking him to show me some (singing) exercises additionally to my treatment at the ENT-department of Martini Ziekenhuis Groningen as well as an ongoing therapy at a professional trained speech therapist. To cut a long story short: Within a couple of lessons and dedicated exercises he succeeded in re-positioning my larynx and got rid of my incomplete vocal cords closure, meanwhile the medical specialists had decided that the only cure could possibly be an operation... As a ‘side-effect’ I am now able to sing and control my voice like I have never been able before and could never have imagined that this was possible to achieve by just some simple but individually chosen exercises and practice. Grazie!

Francesco
I have had several lessons with Francesco, and he is an excellent teacher! I am a beginner on the Double Bass but have previously played other instruments and know a bit about theory, so I really appreciate his versatility in expalining different musical aspects. I strongly recommend Francesco if you are looking for a music teacher!
