My goal is to provide personalized attention and support to help students reach their full potential and achieve academic success. The English lessons will cover reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and speaking skills. The Math lessons will cover a range of topics from basic arithmetic to advanced algebra and geometry. The Science lessons will cover topics such as biology, chemistry, and physics. I work closely with students to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop a customized lesson plan that is tailored to their individual goals. During the lessons, I use a variety of teaching techniques, including hands-on activities, real-world examples, and interactive exercises, to make the learning experience fun and engaging for students. I also provide ongoing feedback and support to ensure that students are making progress and achieving their goals. Trusted teacher: In this session we'll focus on areas that you require some extra support in, focusing on the centre of the UK's national curriculum, the three main core subjects: English, Maths, and Science. To start with you will need to: - Identify what subject(s) you would like tuition in - The syllabus in the subjects (if bookings are based alongside school learnings) - The level you are currently at - The goals you wish to obtain and if there's anything in specific regarding the support needed Learners require individual support and the skill I've acquired will naturally align with the learners requirements. Back story: My interest surrounding society and teaching comes from understanding there's many ways; no two people are the same, what works for one may not work for another. My skills and experiences have highlighted there's a need for those that still have passion and care for what they do. It takes more than communication when individual support is needed; thus my skills continuously enhancing. I allow myself to stay true to who I am whilst working, where my ambitious, understanding, empathetic, creative, optimistic, integrity, leadership skills, dedicated and critical thinking qualities form attainment. Since 2019 I have been working in the educational field, with as young as EYFS to KS4, as a teacher assistant, one to one support, mentoring and providing public and private tuition. Amongst this I have acquired a BA degree in Sociology which has allowed me gain further knowledge and skills in other roles. Within this time I have seen the students I've provided support to excel, learners that had lost hope then regain optimism. ©

Trusted teacher: I was first placed in a reception class; there I was with a particularly challenging year group as they were the first post-covid class to resume normal in-person education. The group had a high level of SEND needs, including ADHD, autism and dyslexia, but specifically SEMH and anxiety caused by the pandemic; I was challenged with supporting the children in transitioning into full-time school. During my time with this class, I was able to observe and hold intervention for students with SEND, with the awareness that early identification and support is imperative. I regularly taught across the EYFS curriculum, and it was a good opportunity for me to develop my teaching, particularly in phonics and math’s. It also allowed me to understand adaptive teaching and include it in my lesson planning, ensuring that learning was accessible for all. Throughout placement, I showed a clear understanding of the EYFS frameworks and national curriculum. I consistently referred to the teaching standards and maintained a high level of professionalism. Safeguarding was at the forefront of everything I did as nothing is more important than the welfare of students, and I would continue in going above and beyond with this. Working with a Year 2 class who were preparing for their end of KS1 SATs tests. Going from reception to year 2 allowed me to gain experience across the ages and curriculum, with year 2 studying all foundation subjects rather than the condensed reception curriculum. During this placement, my teaching percentages rapidly increased, and I worked my way up to 80% of the timetable. I worked with the class to help them prepare and recap for their SATs and held interventions where necessary. At the end of teaching days, I also took the time out to reflect on the lessons I taught, with an aim to improve and better myself. With this class, I specifically worked on assessment, both formative and summative, across subjects; I regularly joined meetings about data, assessments and moderation. Currently, working as a supply teacher has allowed me to gain experience in working with a range of different age groups and schools. As part of this position, I carry out the duties of a class teacher, including lesson planning, consulting with parents and maintaining records of student’s progress. When working at new schools, I always ensure to build a rapport with both staff and students to enable me to teach to the best of my ability. I continue to promote high levels of class engagement and good behavior. I also have experience teaching EAL students.

Our 12th grade IB student daughter has only had one one-on-one and one online lesson so far and we can say that Maria has gone above and beyond in providing reliable feedback on an IA in HL chem. We are going to continue throughout the pre-exams of IB and see how Maria can help IB revision in SL math, HL bio and perhaps HL physics. Very happy to have met Maria via this platform.
