Pop in the ear buds and listen to a book in English. But make sure the narrator has an accent you like! I have some great recommendations for audio books, with amazing English narrators. Reading a book in English may be a little harder, but if I could recommend one easy to read book in English it would be 'The Old Man and the Sea' by Ernest Hemingway. It is written in a very easy to read style, and it will also give you lots to think about and discuss in our class. We could read this book together, taking turns to read a page or two, and then discuss the story as we go. I also have a poetry book that I recommend. It is called 'The Built Moment' by Lavinia Greenlaw. Reading and discussing poetry is a wonderful way to discover the English language. I can aid students from preschool to IGCSE/GCSE level in English, Verbal Reasoning, and essay writing. Having achieved an A* in both English Language and English literature, I am passionate about teaching children how to love the subject and excel in their examinations. I have tutored English in the past to both preschool and IGCSE pupils, offering a dynamic and interactive teaching style that helps nurture a child's love for English and creative writing. I have access to the poetry pamphlet taught in most schools for IGCSE, but can access whatever syllabus is needed for a specific exam. I also have created several worksheets for students who are learning English as their second language. Having studied French, German, and Latin at school, I am aware of the etymology of many words which will allow students to connect meanings across their language to understand the literature fully. In my free time, I write poetry and novels and can share many teachings I learnt on a creative writing course I undertook in 2016.

I rely in my lessons on the Nooraniyah rule if the guardian wants to teach his son to read the Holy Quran, and also a special curriculum for the student who does not speak Arabic. If the guardian wishes to teach Arabic reading, writing, and grammar, praise be to God, we follow a group of books, at the top of which is Arabic in Your Hands, Basic Education, and Arabic Lessons, and there are other curricula from which you can choose what suits the student’s needs. In each class, we must practice the four language skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking, in an atmosphere of interaction between me and the student. I can help you with your Arabic and Quran requirements. I can explain the Quran to Arabic speaking students before they start memorizing. We seek to learn to refine behavior and develop skills so that we may become a nation of readers, as our noble Messenger loved. I memorize the Qur’an by dictation first for those who do not read, then by spelling after giving a set of lessons to the student so that he can spell directly from the Qur’an.

In this class, we'll work on shaping new drafts whilst learning about international poetic forms as well as producing some free verse work. We'll edit our material and, if we have multiple sessions, we'll put together a brief collection! We will explore the world of the senses, memories, and connect to language in a new, profound way. My course is not prescriptive, and we'll meet your voice wherever you're at right now. You'll be taught by a published poet with work experience in the UK and North America. I've taught Creative Writing to university students at a world-leading school, and worked with younger audiences, and I'm happy to work with a variety of forms in English. I studied for my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, and won a scholarship as the strongest poet in my cohort.

Although I have a particular interest in writing for plays, (I am a playwright and published poet), this class is for also for those wanting write creatively.
