    About Me

I am an Oxford Physics graduate with two years experience as a private tutor, teaching students Mathematics and Physics (Primarily for UK A-level). I have also helped students in the past in preparing for entrance exams and interviews for top UK universities such as Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial College London.

My tutoring style works on the spirit of cooperation, we will work on problems and examples together, with lots of discussion and additional questions to help the student build enough confidence to tackle problems by themselves. I will then set students homework to complete by themselves based on the tutorials, to reinforce the concepts introduced there.

I am currently residing in Leuven, Belgium.

'Dylan has been my tutor for two years and I (as a person that had many tutors before him) can safely say that his work is always top notch. During our sessions he always provided me an opportunity to solve the problem myself, however, whenever I failed to solve a problem he would not give out the solution straight away, instead he would try to direct me to the right method. It allowed me to find a solution on my own. If I was unable to find a solution, he would explain in a way that made everything seem simple.' - Demid, student for IB maths

'The sessions I had with Dylan really helped me refine and perfect my personal statement down to the last detail. The MAT sessions we had were also really useful, as it introduced me to new problem-solving techniques.' - Jai, OIC mentoring programme student

    Education

I studied Physics at the University of Oxford from 2014-2018, eventually graduating with a Masters degree in Mathematical and theoretical Physics, achieving a first class over my first 3 years and a distinction in my final year.

    Experience / Qualifications

Mathematics and Science for Secondary Education
Mathematics and science subjects can weigh heavily on your study career during secondary education. It is therefore important to perform well on this. This can be a challenge for many students, especially in the third grade. In my lesson I try to explain the subject matter to students based on their own course, my old course and extra exercises. The ultimate goal is that the students gain a better understanding of their course.

I believe that knowledge is built from basics and deep understanding of concepts with practicality. Any concept learnt with practical application is more important than theoretical knowledge and worth in the long term. With this in mind you can expect me to deliver information in a simple and effective manner for better understanding.

Tutoring Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics and French region of Leuven (secondary)
I am a student of TEW at the KULeuven and would like to offer my services to high school students who could use some help outside of school hours. Together with my students, I look for the right study approach to fully understand the courses and I try to present the subject matter in a different way so that my students gain more insight into the subject matter. I myself graduated from the Sint-Albertuscollege in Haasrode with a degree in science mathematics (6 hours) and I was raised perfectly bilingual (Dutch-French). I have several years of experience with tutoring, both to children in the 2nd year of high school and to children who are at the end of their high school and will soon be making the transition to further studies. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions or are interested.

NICK: Mathematics and Physics tutoring for secondary and primary education (also at home). Master HIR KUL
Mathematics and Physics tutoring for secondary and primary education (also at home). Master Commercial Engineer KUL with a Science-Mathematics-8 and Civil Engineering background. ABOUT THIS LESSON: I offer tutoring in Python programming and mathematics for university and college students. I also support secondary school and primary school students in all scientific subjects. I start by (if available) using your old tests to determine together with you (and possibly your parents) what specific difficulties you have. In addition, we will have a short conversation in which you can explain to me which issues you have experienced as the most difficult and would like to focus more on. My focus is on ensuring that the student is able to find the solution independently, step by step, and I help where necessary by providing mini-tips to get to the next step together. This makes my method much more personalized than standard classroom teaching. When I notice that a student has difficulty independently coming up with the correct editing steps, I create a concise step-by-step plan tailored to that specific subject so that the student begins to see more structure in the learning material. At the same time, I ensure that the underlying theory is thoroughly understood by linking it to self-invented exercises and practical examples from the student's personal environment, which makes learning easier and more lasting. ABOUT NICK: I am a 22-year-old master's student in Commercial Engineering at KU Leuven. I started tutoring my sister, nephews, nieces and friends and I get a lot of satisfaction from improving and helping others when they come to me for help. Because I have been tutoring consistently for 4 years, I have the right resources to present learning material in an understandable way and to strengthen the motivation, concentration and independent study of my students. In addition, I have a lot of experience with children and didactic teaching techniques from my tennis initiator diploma. Ranging from first to sixth secondary school, from 2 hours to 6 hours of mathematics per week and everything in between, I have guided students of all directions and levels, with a successful outcome every time. I don't give up until I'm sure a student understands the material well enough and I see them making progress. By always appearing enthusiastic, I ensure that together we do not let the drudgery of difficult subjects get any further than the school desks. I am flexible in making appointments and am open to every student. This can be done at a fixed time every week or lesson by lesson. I provide tutoring at your home (I can travel by car), at my home (Kampenhout), in my student room (Leuven) or online. If you are interested, do not hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss the practical matters in more depth immediately. Together we can draw up a plan and work lesson by lesson to achieve your personal academic goals or those of your child.

Mathematics, French, Dutch, Scientific subjects, Economics and guidance during studies
I studied Latin Sciences at Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege in Brussels and I am currently in my 3rd bachelor's degree in Applied Economics (TEW) at the KUL. Mathematics, science subjects, and languages can be challenging. I therefore offer my services to provide additional support to students in secondary school. Together with my students, I go over the course material, do sufficient exercises and discuss with them what the right study approach is. My goal is for them to master their learning material well and ultimately achieve a good end result. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions!

Mathematics Tutoring - High school / University level
As a student in a Master's degree in Mathematics, I offer help in the deep understanding of various subjects. I believe that intuition is the most important tool in mathematics and its development deserves our full attention. Whether it's in the math fundamentals we face in high school or the abstract tools we encounter in university, it's always possible to find that magical moment where everything seems so obvious. It is the so called "stupid questions" that are the most important.

    Catalin
Mathematics (at all levels) and high-school Physics. SAT, GRE, and GMAT exam preparation.
Experienced teacher (international schools and private tutoring) with a Master's degree in Mathematics, currently doing a Master's in Statistics at KU Leuven. I adapt that lecture to the specific needs of the student based on their knowledge and grasp of the concepts. I like to develop analytical and scientific ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers. Last, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress.

Mathematics for school students, test preparation and math competitions
Hi🇺🇦! I have a powerful ability kindly explain hard math rules and usually people with a math anxiety tend to feel safe on my math sessions. I would like to share my deep knowledge with more advanced students (math competitions, preparing for exams) as well. Firstly, we will make a short survey to see in which areas you need a help. After that I will make a plan for our study and give you my feedback. I’ve been teaching math online via zoom for 2 years, therefore I have enough expertise to do it perfect. So, contact me if you need some math help. I believe I could help you!
